Game Quotes
Other Projects
Text Dumps have been transferred to the wiki in such a way as to allow transclusion of individual quotes.  This feature has two main uses: captions and citations.
If you are unable to work on Tears of the Kingdom content, or simply don't want to, other projects you could contribute to include:
Listings Pages
Zelda Dungeon Wiki:Listings
Listings pages on Zelda Dungeon Wiki serve two purposes:
#They are used to make templates to link everything on them, from the bottom of those pages and categories, using Listbox and Galbox
#They serve as overviews for the type of thing they list - generally all the items, characters, locations and more relating to a specific game, with an image and a short blurb describing each entry.

Captions
All current listings pages serve the first purpose. However, many have no descriptions, and sometimes no images, and so don't serve the second purpose particularly well. This project is to fill out Listings pages so that they serve as useful overviews.
Many pages already use Caption Templates to display what certain characters have to say about the article's subject. This project involves updating these templates to include presets from text dumps, selected by the title of the article utilizing the template or by keywords.  Pulling the quotes from the dumps automatically both standardizes the quotes (prevents inaccuracies, etc.) and vastly simplifies their use. This project's scope also extends to adjusting the templates' use in articles to use these presets rather than manually specifying the text to display.

Citations
Link's Awakening (Switch)
Claims need to be supported by in-game evidence.  See Help:References and Ref for more information.
Not all Link's Awakening pages currently reflect the existence of the 2019 Nintendo Switch remake which, in addition to the all-new graphics, also changed various points, including number of hits to defeat enemies in some cases (owing to differences in the enemies or damage values of weapons), and changed geography such as the entrance to the Signpost Maze now requiring the Hookshot rather than Roc's Feather and Pegasus Boots.

Main Page Trivia
Pages need to be updated to reflect these changes (as changes, not removing the original information which is still relevant to the Game Boy and Link's Awakening DX) and include images of the new versions where not already present.
All Trivia sections must be updated to meet the requirements described here. This project also covers including new trivia, though there's no measure for completion of that aspect.

Twilight Princess East-West Consistency
There are two versions of the map for Twilight Princess, both largely identical in all but one respect - they are flipped on the West-East axis:
*The originally intended orientation was used for the Nintendo GameCube release of Twilight Princess, and later for standard mode in Twilight Princess HD on the Wii U
*The horizontally-flipped orientation was used for the Nintendo Wii release of Twilight Princess, as it was felt Link should be right-handed when using the Wiimote, as most players are right-handed. It was later also used for Hero Mode in Twilight Princess HD to provide an additional challenge.

Twilight Princess pages on Zelda Dungeon Wiki were originally written (and in some cases, titled) according to the Wii release. After the release of Twilight Princess HD, some pages were changed to match the newly-restored original orientation, but not all, leading to an ongoing inconsistency. This project aims to resolve this issue by standardising on the GameCube/TPHD orientation for major directions, including page titling - with Eldin Province (including Kakariko Village) in the east, and Desert & Peak Provinces to the west - and Wii/Hero Mode orientation noted in (brackets) within articles where needed. Pages may also be rewritten to be direction-agnostic, where possible.

Revision as of 16:23, August 23, 2023

This page is the location for any and all current Wiki projects. The following are what we'd like to work on. Of course, other areas of the Wiki are welcome for being worked on, but we'd prefer to get these pages done, or at least very fleshed out sooner than later. Thanks.

Tears of the Kingdom

The main priority on the Wiki right now (Aug 2023) is Tears of the Kingdom content. Many pages are still stubs in whole or in relation to Tears, and ones marked as such can be seen at:

Many quests need their pages expanded, and others still need to be created. See Help:Tears of the Kingdom Quest Template for a template to use in creating pages. A list of quests can be seen by clicking show in the bar below:

In addition, most characters' and location pages are not yet updated for Tears, and not all Shrines of Light are fully written up:

Any good-faith Tears of the Kingdom contributions are welcome, of course.

Other Projects

If you are unable to work on Tears of the Kingdom content, or simply don't want to, other projects you could contribute to include:

Listings Pages

Main article: Zelda Dungeon Wiki:Listings

Listings pages on Zelda Dungeon Wiki serve two purposes:

 1. They are used to make templates to link everything on them, from the bottom of those pages and categories, using Listbox and Galbox
 2. They serve as overviews for the type of thing they list - generally all the items, characters, locations and more relating to a specific game, with an image and a short blurb describing each entry.

All current listings pages serve the first purpose. However, many have no descriptions, and sometimes no images, and so don't serve the second purpose particularly well. This project is to fill out Listings pages so that they serve as useful overviews.

Link's Awakening (Switch)

Not all Link's Awakening pages currently reflect the existence of the 2019 Nintendo Switch remake which, in addition to the all-new graphics, also changed various points, including number of hits to defeat enemies in some cases (owing to differences in the enemies or damage values of weapons), and changed geography such as the entrance to the Signpost Maze now requiring the Hookshot rather than Roc's Feather and Pegasus Boots.

Pages need to be updated to reflect these changes (as changes, not removing the original information which is still relevant to the Game Boy and Link's Awakening DX) and include images of the new versions where not already present.

Twilight Princess East-West Consistency

Main article: Zelda Dungeon Wiki:Twilight Princess East-West Consistency

There are two versions of the map for Twilight Princess, both largely identical in all but one respect - they are flipped on the West-East axis:

 • The originally intended orientation was used for the Nintendo GameCube release of Twilight Princess, and later for standard mode in Twilight Princess HD on the Wii U
 • The horizontally-flipped orientation was used for the Nintendo Wii release of Twilight Princess, as it was felt Link should be right-handed when using the Wiimote, as most players are right-handed.

Sandbox

 • Sandbox - Use that page to test out your formatting and ideas. Don't worry if you mess up, it's cleaned up easier there.
