Legend of the Great Sky Island is a Side Adventure in Tears of the Kingdom.

Overview

When Link returns to Great Sky Island and sees a bright beacon on top of the Temple of Time, following it to the source will reveal a Steward Construct, who has a challenge for him. The construct will set up waterfalls floating above Great Sky Island. Using these, the paraglider and the Zora Armor, Link must light three bonfires around the island and return to the Temple of Time's roof between two rings of the Time Bell, without ever touching the ground outside of the roof.

When Link successfully takes the challenge, the construct tells him the story of how the Great Sky Island came to be:

"The Temple of Time and the land it sits upon were once found on the surface of the world.

This has changed. Its land and the lands surrounding it now float in the sky.

There is a reason for this. The hero who will defeat the Demon King will one day awaken at this very site.

The site must be kept safe from the Demon King and his followers. It was therefore raised high into the skies.

The tremendous power of the sages accomplished this feat long ago.

That is the story of the Great Sky Island."

It also gives him Zonai Fabric as an additional token of his accomplishment.

Requirements

Link must have obtained the paraglider by activating the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower, and regained the Zora Armor by completing the Restoring the Zora Armor Main Quest. He must also have a bow, arrows, and materials that he can fuse to them to make Fire Arrows, such as Fire Fruit and/or Red Chuchu Jelly. Cold Resistance Level One is required for the last bonfire.

Walkthrough

• Head up to the top of the Temple of Time - location (0453, -0802, 1540 ). An option for this is to warp to Ukouh Shrine, paraglide to the Temple, and then repeatedly use Ascend to climb through the layers.
• Listen to the construct's story, which sets up the ceremony. Link has 12 in-game hours (7am to 7pm) to light three bonfires without touching any ground other than the roof of the temple, and return to the roof.
• Equip the Zora armor, which will allow Link to ride up waterfalls and refresh his stamina wheel. Tulin will not be able to help you during the trial.
• The first bonfire is straight ahead and is the only one that the Construct shows to you. Paraglide over, ride a waterfall up to get height, and use an arrow fused with a fire-based material to light it. Using Fire Keese wings will help you get some extra distance on your shot if you need it.
• Get more height using the waterfalls above the island with the first bonfire, and head south, ducking underneath the island ahead of you. Use the trio of waterfalls ahead to once again gain height. The next bonfire is on the island just above the platform with the Flux Construct. Light it with an arrow.
• Fly to the east towards the cold region of the island (you will need Cold Resistance Lvl 1). Use the waterfalls to boost yourself up again, and head north over the river. There are two sets of trios of waterfalls pouring off of sky islands, into the river. The third bonfire is on the ground just after the second trio. Light it with an arrow.
• Use the waterfalls to continue boosting yourself up and fly back over to the roof of the Temple of Time. When you land on the roof it will trigger the dialogue that ends the quest and leads to the reward of the Zonai Fabric.

5	You failed the construct's trial. Talk to the construct to try again.
6	All of the bonfires have been lit. Return to the construct and let it know. Be sure to return within the time limit and without setting foot on the ground.
Complete	You lit all of the bonfires and returned to the Steward Construct. In return, the construct told you how the Temple of Time and Great Sky Island—once a part of the surface—came to float in the sky so as to remain protected. It also presented you with fabric adorned with the Zonai crest.
