Breath of the Wild Shrine Locations

NOTE: This page is under Heavy Construction and will be updated regularly throughout the month of March.

Breath of the Wild is filled with over 100 Shrines scattered throughout the Overworld. Only the first four shrines on the Great Plateau are required in order to complete the game.

Shrines serve two main functions. Simply arriving at the shrine and putting the Sheikah Slate on the pedestal will unlock the shrine as a teleport spot, which can be traveled to at any time, even when within a shrine or dungeon. The secondary function is to enter the shrine and complete it for a Spirit Orb. Four Spirit Orbs can be turned in to any Goddess Statue for your choice of a heart container or a stamina upgrade. Later in the quest, Link will unlock a sidequest which will allow him the ability to change these choices. Shrines often contain unique treasure that cannot be acquired elsewhere, such as pieces of armor sets, or rare weapons.

If you unlock the teleport point, but save the shrine for later, the inner portion of the icon will show as red on the map. When all treasure chests within the shrine are collected, a treasure chest icon will show next to the shrine’s name on the map when it is selected. Finally, shrines that are not unlocked will show as red in the world, shrines that are unlocked but not completed will show as blue with a red top, and completed shrines show as blue.

Below is a listing (under construction) that will eventually contain every single shrine found within the game. Alternatively, you can use the Interactive Map to show the location of each shrine. Click the shrine’s name on the Interactive Map to open the wiki page and get more details of how to unlock and complete the shrine. Each page below will send you to a page dedicated for the shrine alone. It will have a description of its location, a text guide with screenshots, and a video guide on how to complete the shrine.

has anyone gotten to the Zora area yet and have unlocked their Shrines warp? I have no idea how to beat it and its driving me nuts, and I’d also really love not to run up the path to it again T^T

  • Craptastic

Over 100 shrines, compacted into 4 different shrines, which then form to become one super giant shrine!

  • Elliot McAuley

    There are 120 shrines

  • Thortok

The first 4 shrines are now covered more explicitly and show how the remaining shrines will be covered. More shrines are coming soon, most likely tonight.

  • Thortok

The next 9 shrines for the Dueling Peaks Tower region have been added.

  • Saber

I can help out if needed with the locations, I have around 80 – 90 as of now.

  • Thortok

All shrines in the Great Plateau, Dueling Peaks, Hateno, and Lanayru Tower Regions are mapped on the interactive map and have a wiki mini-walkthrough. Now working on the Wasteland Tower Region.

  • Thortok

All shrines in the Wasteland Tower Region are mapped on the interactive map and have a wiki mini-walkthrough. After doing Wasteland sidequests and seeds, the next region for shrines will be Faron.

  • Browyn

In Eldin Area there is also the Shae Mo’sah Shrine.

  • Thortok

All shrines in the Faron Tower Region are mapped on the interactive map and have a wiki mini-walkthrough. After doing Faron sidequests and seeds, the next region for shrines will be Lake.

  • Vashtifyth

Duelint peaks region, Lanka to keep shrine…. add that… you have to unlock it by doing quest within the kakariko village

  • Thortok

All shrines in the Lake Tower region are mapped on the interactive map and have a wiki mini-walkthrough. After doing Lake sidequests and seeds, the next region for shrines will be Gerudo.

All shrines in the Gerudo Tower region (except for one which has a shrinequest that starts in Ridgeland) are mapped on the interactive map and have a wiki mini-walkthrough. After doing Gerudo sidequests and seeds, the next region for shrines will be Tabantha. The missing Gerudo shrine will be covered once I review the Ridgeland region, which will probably be awhile.

  • ddiago

In Central Tower: Rota Ooh Shrine is repeated

Yeah, looks like one is supposed to be Saas Ko’sah

  • Thortok

All shrines in the Tabantha Tower region are mapped on the interactive map and have a wiki mini-walkthrough. After doing Tabantha sidequests and seeds, the next region for shrines will be Eldin.

    1) Dueling Peaks: Lakna Rokee
    2) Tabantha: Voo Lota
    3) Ridgeland: Mijah Rokee

  • Thortok

All Shrines in the Eldin Tower region are mapped on the interactive map and have a wiki mini-walkthrough. After doing Eldin sidequests and seeds, the next region for shrines will be Akkala. The order of regions after that will be Woodland, Ridgeland, Hebra, Central.

Yes, I believe that is correct.

  • Thortok

All Shrines in the Akkala Tower region are mapped on the interactive map and have a wiki mini-walkthrough (with one exception which requires a sidequest, will be reviewed later.) After doing Akkala sidequests and seeds, the next region for shrines will be Woodland. The order of regions after that will be Ridgeland, Hebra, Central.

  • Any chance of shrine quests being added?

  • Matthew

Near the Tabantha tower you forgot to list the Voo Lota Shrine on this page.

  • Siriusgray

A list of the shrine quests would be very helpful since players don’t know the name of the shrine when they’re doing the shrine quest for the first time 🙂

  • Thortok

All Shrines in the Woodland Tower region are mapped on the interactive map and have a wiki mini-walkthrough. After doing Woodland sidequests and seeds, the next region for shrines will be Ridgeland. The order of regions after that will be Hebra, and then Central.

  • Matthew James Court

Great guide helped me out no end but did note a few head scratching moments, I am not sure if I had overlooked it but there was the Blood Moon Shrine and the additional shrine in kakariko that opens up after completing a few side quests around the town

  • Stian Kvinge

Voo lota shrine is missing on this list

  • Kari DoRego

Yeah, I I’m at that one now. Anyone know how to cook the salmon dish?

  • Thortok

Look it up on the interactive map, and then click the link to go to the wiki. I’ve written mini-walkthroughs for all shrines and shrinequests in the areas I’ve covered, all accessible via the interactive map.

  • Kari DoRego

Figured it out when I found the kids. However, the interactive map stopped working on mobile, at least t mobile.. for me about a week ago. 🙁

  • Thortok

The interactive map will sometimes break when someone adds a pin, but does it incorrectly. We usually fix the map pretty quickly.

  • Stian Kvinge
