Ousting the Giants is a Side Quest in Tears of the Kingdom.
Overview
Kampo, the owner of Lakeside Stable, is worried three giant monsters who have settled nearby will scare away customers. Link can hunt down and kill the three Hinox in nearby Corta Lake Cave, Rodai Lakefront Tunnel, and Calora Lake Cave. Kampo will reward him with some Mighty Fried Bananas.
Walkthrough
- Talk to Kampo at Lakeside Stable to start (map: (1563, -3530, 0060 )
- Generally when fighting Hinox, aiming for the eye to knock it down and then running over to do melee damage is a good strategy. Be careful not to get stepped on / kicked when it gets back up.
- The caves are listed in the walkthrough in order of increasing Hinox difficulty.
- Rodai Lakefront Tunnel
- Map location of cave entrance: ( 1896, -3111, 0133).
- The cave is pitch black when you drop into it but there is water to land in at the bottom. Scan around to find where the Brightbloom Seeds are to find land to climb out on, then throw some around to get more light. Alternatively, drink a Bright Elixir or use glowing clothes like the Miner's Set for visibility.
- The Youngest Hinox Brother, a regular Hinox, is located at (1879, -2948, -0039). It is in a donut-shaped room with a pillar going through the center to the ceiling and several large Luminous Stone Deposits on walls. The Hinox is behind the pillar, so be sure to light up the area before entering so you don't stumble into it unexpectedly.
- Defeat the Hinox.
- Corta Lake Cave
- Map location of cave entrance: (1677, -3039, 0165). This entrance is at water level on Corta Lake.
- Head into the cave and drop down where the first updraft is into the lower section. Go left in this cave to the very back and blow up the rock pile there. Take the updraft up into the cavern containing the Hinox.
- The Middle Hinox Brother, a Blue Hinox, is located at ( 1652, -2911, 0156).
- Defeat the Hinox.
- Calora Lake Cave
- There are two entrances, one on the upper level island at ( 1959, -3033, 0193) and the other directly north of the lower level Calora Lake at (2010, -3164, 0177).
- From the upper entrance: move the rocks out of the way to enter the cave. Follow the tunnel until you reach a large room, then drop down through the area of the floor with the wooden landings.
- From the lower entrance: head into the main room and drop down the big hole in the floor with the wooden landings.
- This will drop you directly into the area with The Eldest Hinox Brother, a Black Hinox, located at ( 2025, -3061, 0096 ).
- Defeat the Hinox.
- Return to Kampo for a reward.
