A Call from the Depths is a Side Adventure in Tears of the Kingdom.

Overview

If Link opens the sediment-blocked path to the Great Plateau near the Gatepost Town Ruins, draining the water behind it, when he walks up the newly reopened way, he will find a small statue. This tells him:

You who hear my voice.
Come to me... In the Temple of Time Ruins...up the road on the plateau to the south...

In the Temple of Time, the being hijacks the Goddess Statue, and thanks Link for freeing part of it. It tells him that it "speak[s] to you now from the Depths below in the guise of this statue". It directs him to find the four eyes near the four chasms on the Great Plateau, marking the locations on the Purah Pad map, to drop them into the chasms and deliver them to it, "who dwells in the Depths below this temple. Do all of this and a reward will be yours".

The dweller is a giant Bargainer Statue inside the Great Abandoned Central Mine. When Link brings them, and uses Ultrahand to place them back in the holes in its face, he is offered the choice of a Heart Container or Stamina Vessel as his reward for doing so.

After Link chooses, it then opens for business, trading Poes for materials and armor; it also tells him to "Seek [its] brethren... If you do so, you may receive further blessings." With the quest complete, the Goddess Statue in the Temple of Time Ruins returns to being a normal Goddess Statue, where one can trade Lights of Blessing or Sage's Wills to Hylia for Heart Containers, Stamina Vessels and Solemn Vows.

Requirements

The quest cannot be started until Link breaks the sediment wall in the gate to the Great Plateau near the Gatepost Town Ruins. Until this is done, both the Temple of Time Ruins' Goddess Statue and the Great Abandoned Central Mine's Bargainer Statue will only say "I am trapped...under the water...behind the stone gate...of the great plateau..."

Walkthrough

  • Head to Gatepost Town Ruins and clear away the sediment blocking the water at (-0585, -1540, 0027). This is not actually on the Great Plateau, but rather on the lower level outside of it. This can be done using Yunobo's powers, a bomb arrow, or just bashing away at it with a melee weapon.
  • Once the water drains away, talk to the Bargainer Statue just up the hill where the water was.
  • Head back up to the Temple of Time Ruins and talk to the Goddess Statue which is possessed by a giant Bargainer Statue. It will ask you to bring four eyes down to the depths through the chasms on the Great Plateau and bring them to the Bargainer Statue in the Great Abandoned Central Mine. The eyes have bright glowing gems in the center and will be near the four chasms closest to the Great Plateau.
  • Great Plateau West Chasm
    • Dropping down from Rakashog Shrine is a good way to get there fast.
    • The eye is inside the north-westernmost of the three ice blobs. Melt the ice (i.e. with a Ruby weapon), drop the eye into the chasm, and jump down after it.
    • Place the eye on the nearby elevator platform and ride to the top with it.
    • There is a nearby pre-assembled cart next to a track. Put the eye in the cart and ride it to the end of the line.
    • Then take the eye up a flight of stairs to another area with more carts and tracks. Ride the second set of tracks up to the end.
    • Stop and grab the Large Zonaite from the nearby chest, then head to the elevator and ride it up again.
    • Follow the path towards the two lights where the giant Bargainer Statue's head is.
    • Use Ultrahand to insert the eye into a socket, which will update the counter.
  • Great Plateau South Chasm
    • Travel to Tadarok Shrine and then Ascend through the ceiling to quickly get to this chasm.
    • The eye is in a small hollow underneath the large chunk of sky island on the south-west corner of the chasm's rim.
    • Lift the island chunk away with Ultrahand, drop the eye into the chasm, and dive down after it.
    • Carry the eye up the stairs to a Wing launching platform.
    • Build something you can steer and be sure to fasten the eye to the device so you don't drop it.
    • Fly over to the Great Abandoned Central Mine (straight forward and slightly to the right) and deliver the eye into the statue.
      • If you land on the platform near the statue with stairs on either side of it there is a hole that will take you directly into the statue's room.
    • Attach the eye into a socket.
  • Great Plateau East Chasm
    • Traveling from Jinodok Shrine, In-isa Shrine, or Tadarok Shrine are all options.
    • Destroy the breakable rocks just west of the chasm (in a hole in the wall) to get the eye, drop it in the chasm, and jump down.
    • Just south-west of the landing point is another mine cart track. Put a fan on the cart and attach the eye to the cart. These tracks do have a small break in them (passed over with no problem using just one fan), but if the eye is not secured it could fall out. Ride to the end of the line.
    • Carry the eye up the steps, take a right into the statue's room, and attach the eye into a socket.
  • Great Plateau North Chasm
    • It is really difficult to correctly Ascend out of Kyokugon Shrine, so paragliding down from Jinodok Shrine or In-isa Shrine might be better options if you don't want to go on foot from elsewhere.
    • The eye is in the pond next to the chasm, so grab it, drop it in the chasm, and jump down.
    • Use the nearby materials to build some kind of drivable cart - the terrain is bumpy so using the big wheels is a good idea. If you haven't unlocked Nogukoyk Lightroot yet, it is right next to the chasm and will make this much easier.
    • Drive to the Great Abandoned Central Mine - arriving on the south side of the main building will take you to the statue with stairs on either side referenced in the Great Plateau East Chasm instructions.
    • Head in to see the statue and deliver the eye.
