Listings pages on Zelda Dungeon Wiki serve two purposes:

  1. They are used to make templates to link everything on them, from the bottom of those pages and categories, using {{Listbox}} and {{Galbox}}
  2. They serve as overviews for the type of thing they list - generally all the items, characters, locations and more relating to a specific game, with an image and a short blurb describing each entry.

All current listings pages serve the first purpose. However, many have no descriptions, and sometimes no images, and so don't serve the second purpose particularly well. This project is to fill out Listings pages so that they serve as useful overviews.

Format

Listings pages can only use two types of headers - h2 (==Two Equals Signs==) and h3 (===Three Equals Signs===) - any other header will be ignored by the {{Listbox}} and {{Galbox}} templates. A page which only uses h2 headers displays in Listboxes and Galboxes as a single, unbroken list of items. A page which uses h2 and h3 headers displays as multiple lists, with h2 headers serving as groupings and h3 headers as individual items.

A typical format for a two item group on a Listings page itself, using h2 and h3 headings, would be:

These break down as follows:

  • Group Header - The name of the group to which the things belong (e.g., Light World vs. Dark World dungeons on A Link to the Past Dungeons)
  • Item Header - The name of the thing, with no (Disambiguation) from the page title - e.g., Eastern Palace
  • (PAGE LINK) - The name of the page, *including* any disambiguation from the page title - e.g., Eastern Palace (A Link to the Past). This can also include section links - e.g., Impa#Ocarina of Time links to the Ocarina of Time section of the Impa page.
  • File:(IMAGE NAME) - The page name for the image showing the thing, e.g. File:Triforce.png.
  • (DESCRIPTION) - A short, 2-3 sentence description of the thing. This can be a little bit longer for major items or key characters, but keep it down to one short paragraph - anything longer should be moved to the thing's actual page.
  • {{clear}} - This ensures images don't overlap between sections.

Listings pages needing descriptions

Note, this is not a comprehensive list of Listings pages needing improvement, it is a list of pages with at least one section which requires a description. Frequently, they need descriptions for every item, and sometimes images as well. Notes in brackets, where present, describe what needs to be done.
