The Blocked Well is a Side Adventure in Tears of the Kingdom.
Overview
When Link reaches Gerudo Canyon Stable, he finds it is closing - partly because of the events in the Gerudo Desert, but partly because the stable's well has been "temporarily" blocked up by Princess Zelda for a long time, leading to a shortage of water and the unavailability of the brightcap mushrooms which grew in it. After he speaks to Penn and Piaffe about this, he goes down the well and finds a sediment wall, behind which is a den full of monsters.
After killing every last monster, he goes back to the surface and reports to Penn that Zelda blocked up the well because of the monsters. Penn speculates that she didn't tell anyone because she didn't want to cause a panic, then pays Link as usual for the story.
Requirements
Link must have spoken to Traysi and taken a freelance job for the Lucky Clover Gazette in the Potential Princess Sightings! Side Adventure.
Walkthrough
- Begin Potential Princess Sightings!
- Head to Gerudo Canyon Stable and speak to Penn, who is just outside the Gerudo Canyon Well to begin the quest.
- Drop down into the well and break the sediment wall using a Bomb Flower, a Hammer weapon, or Yunobo.
- Behind the wall are a number of Lizalfos and a Like Like. Defeat them all.
- There is one Electric Lizalfo hiding on the ledge behind the Like Like.
- When all the monsters are dead, Penn will call you back up to the surface. He'll reward you with Rupees; the amount depends on how many of the Potential Princess Sightings! quests you've finished.

| After climbing down into the well, you found a rock wall inside and broke it—revealing a cave crawling with monsters. For the safety of those at the stable, you should probably defeat them. | |
| You told Penn what was going on at the bottom of the well. Now, it's clear why Princess Zelda didn't want anyone to use the well—there was a den of monsters down there, and she must have known about it. Penn is relieved to have this mystery sorted out. He's going to write up the whole story for the newspaper. |
