Attributes

Type

The North Lomei Prophecy is a Side Quest in Tears of the Kingdom.

Overview

The quest begins in the North Lomei Labyrinth where a tablet sends Link into the maze to activate the dragon ring in the center. Upon activating the ring, a mysterious voice sends Link up to the Sky level version of the Labyrinth. There, Link is tasked with activating the four dragon ring terminals marked on his map. Doing so will activate a fifth terminal on the top of the maze. Activating this terminal will open the way for Link to skydive down through the Sky and Surface versions of the labyrinth into the Depths. There, Link will fight a Flux Construct III to unlock one final terminal and be rewarded with the Evil Spirit Greaves.

Requirements

Unlock the paraglider from activating the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower. Having Stamina Wheel upgrades will make traversing the Sky level labyrinth significantly easier. You will need to melt ice during this quest, so having Flint, Wood, the Hylian Pine Cones you have collected in the maze, arrows tipped with Fire Fruit, and/or Ruby fusions will be essential. You can also use Yunobo to melt the ice without other supplies but his cool down may make it lengthy.

Walkthrough

  • Surface
    • Arrive at the North Labyrinth on the Surface's main entrance from the west. Follow the trail of nuts and acorns left by the researchers through the maze to the center. You can use the Sensor set to the acorns or by activating Ultrahand to help if you can't see the trail easily.
    • The maze ends in a chamber containing the Mayaotaki Shrine, which you can access by melting the ice blocking the terminal. On the floor is a grate covering the North Lomei Chasm, which will be unlocked after finishing the Sky version of the labyrinth.
    • Opposite the shrine is a dragon ring terminal. Activate the terminal to move on to the next portion of the quest.
  • Sky
    • Head up to the Sky version of the labyrinth, North Lomei Castle Top Floor. Warping up to Taninoud Shrine and then building a flying device is a good option. You can alternatively paraglide from the front of the Ark Wind Temple if you have fully over-filled stamina wheels (4 wheels or its equivalent in food and/or Elixirs) while constantly using Turin's gust to get you across without stopping, and it will land you on the Tenbez Shrine unless you have additional food and/or elixirs to help you land on top of the Maze. However, you will need to start the Maze by going to Tenbez Shrine.
    • Activate Tenbez Shrine at the entrance and then activate the dragon ring. It is recommended you Save at this time because if you dip below the floor of the maze for any reason, you will have to find your way back up. You might be able to land on the highest platform and use Wood you activate with Fire (Flint struck by a metal sword or blade, Arrow with Fire Fruit, Yunobo's Spirit, etc.) with Hylian Pinecones but you may not catch the up draft in time to be successful. This will activate the next portion of the quest, which is to activate four more rings within the maze. These will be marked on the map if you have The North Lomei Prohecy Side Quest chosen in your adventure log.
    • There will be continuous updrafts in the labyrinth, with areas that Link can drop down onto for a stamina refresh.
      • Activate the Dragon Ring: Paraglide under the first barrier; 1st left over the wrought iron, 1st right past the stairs, 1st right towards the stairs, 1st right over the middle of the stairs; land in chamber; activate the Dragon Ring.
      • Big Battery Chest: Paraglide out of the chamber; 1st left to the corner, 1st left past the stairs almost to the corner (where you may have to wait or drop down a little to activate for a gust up) so you can go north, go straight above the barrier and take an immediate right for a chest containing a Big Battery.
      • North Switch: Walk along the path behind you going immediate West. Jump down and activate your Paraglider; 1st left at the corner, immediate left, immediate right to/towards/past the small platforms, then you're essentially going to strafe along that northeastern line until you reach wrought iron in your path, dip below the wrought iron to the other side, and take an immediate left to the switch.
      • East Switch: Turn around and go towards the column of the wrought iron that is at the center of the maze; left after the long platform, straight past the two smaller platforms, follow the unchanging path (assuming you haven't dipped for more gust) past the other two smaller platforms, turn right at the corner, take your first left and sail over the wrought iron barrier; activate the switch.
      • South Switch: Turn around and Paraglide towards the column of the wrought iron that is at the center of the maze; take the path towards the left where the platform towards the center starts, (TBC)
    • After activating the four marked terminals, a fifth will open on the roof. Catch an updraft/climb up and activate it. This will open the way to drop all the way down into the Depths.
  • Depths
    • Dive from the indicated ledge on the Sky level down into the Depths, using the paraglider to keep yourself from hitting walls/dying on impact. The orange light at the bottom from the Flux Construct III will indicate where the ground is.
    • (Optional) Head outside the building to activate the Ikatoayam Lightroot to make visibility better.
    • Head downstairs to fight the Flux Construct III. Strategy for how to win varies, but using Ultrahand to rip away the control block, Arrows to hit the control block, and Ascend to climb up on top of it when it becomes a floating plane are all useful.
    • Winning will light up the final terminal. Go activate it to unlock the chest containing the Evil Spirit Greaves and complete the quest.
