Investigate the Thyphlo Ruins is a Side Adventure in Tears of the Kingdom.
Requirements
Must have completed at least one part of Regional Phenomena.
Overview
Kazul is a member of the Zonai Survey Team whose been sent to investigate Thyphlo Ruins, but is in need of a research assistant to help him out. He assumes that Link is the assistant he requested, so your job is to help him out by solving the riddles that Kazul finds on monoliths, and then locating the areas that the riddles lead to, all in an effort to determine why the ruins were made in the first place.
NOTE: It is possible to start this quest before completing any of the parts for Regional Phenomena, but Kazul will tell you that he doesn't need your help at the moment, so check back in with him later (ie, after completing a part).
Walkthrough
There are four parts to this Side Adventure, each one a Side Adventure of it's own. And each one is made available only after completing it's corresponding part of Regional Phenomena. These do not have to be completed in any particular order:
- The Owl Protected by Dragons - must have completed Tulin of Rito Village
- The Corridor between Two Dragons - must have completed Yunobo of Goron City
- The Six Dragons - must have completed Sidon of the Zora
- The Long Dragon - must have completed Riju of Gerudo Town
As each Main Quest is completed, Kazul will have found the monolith that starts that particular Side Adventure, each one requiring Link to solve the riddle on the monolith, find the location within the Thyphlo Ruins that the riddle references, and then using the special abilities of the Sage associated with it. Doing so will cause a chest to appear with 3 to 5 gems in it, depending on the element of the Sage involved.
Upon completing the final side adventure, a hidden stairwell will appear on the east side of the island (0411, 3158, 0174), inside which lies a final monolith and a chest. Examining the monolith causes Kazul to show up and decipher it for you. As reward for helping him out, he gives you a Large Zonai Charge, a Big Battery, and a Diamond. Opening the chest gets you the Dusk Claymore.
