Free the Divine Beasts
Free the Divine Beasts is a Main Quest found in Breath of the Wild. To complete it, the four individual Divine Beast Main Quests must be completed, by destroying the Blight Ganon controlling them, freeing the trapped Champion's spirit and receiving their power, then reporting to the elder of the relevant people that the quest is completed.

Overview
To trigger this quest, after completing the Seek Out Impa quest by finding Impa in Lady Impa's Hall, Impa will ask Link to think before he continues, because she thinks Princess Zelda's words may be too much for him without his memories. When Link talks to her again and tells her he is willing to risk his life for the greater good, she tells him he must free the Divine Beasts. She tells him there are four which must be freed. These are:
*The Divine Beast Vah Rudania of the Gorons, piloted by Champion Daruk and overtaken by Fireblight Ganon
*The Divine Beast Vah Medoh of the Rito, piloted by Champion Revali and overtaken by Windblight Ganon
*The Divine Beast Vah Ruta of the Zora, piloted by Champion Mipha and overtaken by Waterblight Ganon
*The Divine Beast Vah Naboris of the Gerudo, piloted by Champion Urbosa and overtaken by Thunderblight Ganon

There are four Divine Beasts:
Link must defeat the "Ganon phantoms", the Blight Ganon who killed and trapped the spirit of each Champion piloting one of the Divine Beasts, in order to release the Champions' spirits and free them to use the Divine Beasts to help Link in his fight against Calamity Ganon. They will also give Link a power they possess to help him in later battles.

-The Divine Beast Vah Rudania of the Gorons
Once the quest is complete, Zelda will contact Link telepathically to tell you, thank you for freeing the Champions, and urge him to fight Ganon at Hyrule Castle.
-The Divine Beast Vah Medoh of the Rito
-The Divine Beast Vah Ruta of the Zora
-The Divine Beast Vah Naboris of the Gerudo

You have to defeat the Phantoms that are the bosses in the Divine Beasts to free them. These Phantoms are responsible for the demise of the Champions that controlled them.
For each Divine Beast freed, at the start of the Calamity Ganon fight, they will contribute to a massive blast which will take an eighth of his health apiece, for a total of half his health if the quest is completed. Any Blight Ganons not defeated separately will have to be defeated by Link before the true Calamity Ganon.

When you enter a Divine Beast you will hear the voice of the fallen Champion telling you what to do. When you reach the First Machine that shows you where the rest of the machines are, and lets you control a certain part of the Divine Beast.

These are:

Link must defeat the "Ganon phantoms", the Blight Ganon who killed and trapped the spirit of each Champion piloting one of the Divine Beasts, in order to release the Champions' spirits and free them to use the Divine Beasts to help Link in his fight against Calamity Ganon. They will also give Link a power they possess to help him in later battles.

Once the quest is complete, Zelda will contact Link telepathically to tell you, thank you for freeing the Champions, and urge him to fight Ganon at Hyrule Castle.
