The Spring of Power

Speak with Nobo at East Akkala Stable

The Spring of Power is a Shrine Quest from Breath of the Wild.

Begin the Quest

At the East Akkala Stable, Link can speak with Nobo, who is sitting out by the Campfire, or inside by the table when it is raining. Link can ask Nobo about some of the locations in the area and Nobo mentions the Spring of Power to the west. She refers to it as a sacred place and the legend states, "Offer the sacred article to the Spring of Power."[1] This will begin the shrine quest.

The Spring of Power is located directly west of the East Akkala Stable. Once Link arrives, he can pray to the Goddess Hylia, who tells Link to offer up Dinraal's Scale to the spring.[2]

The best way to get Dinraal's Scale is over at the Tabantha Great Bridge. Warp over to the Tabantha Bridge Stable and use the campfire to advance time to morning. Then run over to the Tabantha Great Bridge and wait until about 7am. Dinraal will approach from the north and will fly underneath the bridge. Strike Dinraal anywhere in the body, other than his horn, face, or claws, and it will drop a scale.

At the Spring of Power, drop Dinraal's Scale as an offering. This will open the gate behind the statue, revealing the Tutsuwa Nima Shrine and completing the quest.

Tutsuwa Nima Shrine

Main article: Tutsuwa Nima Shrine

The Tutsuwa Nima Shrine is A Major Test of Strength shrine. Defeat the Guardian Scout IV and it will drop a Guardian Spear++, Guardian Sword++, and Guardian Shield++. Link can then open the chest to get a Flamespear. Then Link can speak with Tutsuwa Nima at the altar to get a Spirit Orb.

Quest Description

Step Description
You learned of a legend that says to offer a sacred relic to the Spring of Power, located to the west of East Akkala Stable.

The legend didn't say what this sacred relic might be.
You found the Spring of Power and heard the Goddess's voice: "Offer Dinraal's scale received from the red spirit tot he Spring of Power."

Does this mean that the sacred relic is Dinraal's scale? Who or what is Dinraal?
"Offer Dinraal's scale received from the red spirit to the Spring of Power."

When you carried out the statue's suggestion and dropped Dinraal's scale into the Spring of Power, an ancient shrine revealed itself.

So the sacred relic was indeed Dinraal's scale...

  1. Let's see... If you go west of the stable, there's a sacred place called the Spring of Power! "Offer the sacred article to the Spring of Power." That's what the legend says. Maybe it was part of a ritual the princess of Hyrule Castle used to perform? - Nobo
  2. ... You have done well to find this spring. Offer Dinraal's scale, received from the red spirit, to the Spring of Power. I, Goddess Hylia, will guide you. - Goddess Hylia
