The Eldin Spring is a location that appears in Twilight Princess. It is the home of the Light Spirit known as Eldin. The spring itself is located near the entrance to Kakariko Village. As Link enters the village, the spring is located to the left (Wii). It's one of four springs found within the game, each being significant to the main plot.

This is the second spring that Link encounters within the events of Twilight Princess. Similar to the Faron Spring, Link, in Wolf form, once again meets the Light Spirit of this area, Eldin.[1] He is then tasked with collecting the sixteen Tears of Light located around province.[2] To achieve this, Eldin hands Link the Vessel of Light and marks the location of each Shadow Insect on his map.[3] After collecting all the Tears and completing the Vessel of Light, Link is then automatically teleported to Eldin Spring. Now he can return to his normal form and the light is once again restored to the province. Link is then told that he must clear the evil that lurks within the Goron Mines, the hero's next quest at hand.[4]

Heart Pieces

Main article: Twilight Princess Heart Pieces

There are two Heart Pieces located in the immediate area around the Eldin Spring. The first is situated up high on a cliff to the east (Wii) side. Link must equip his Bomb Arrows and shoot the large boulder, this reveals a Piece of Heart, which the hero can obtain with the Gale Boomerang. The second is located at the back of the spring and can be accessed by blowing up a large boulder. Link can follow this path and reach a narrow, but deep, pool of water. The young hero can then equip the Iron Boots to sink to the bottom of the water. At the bottom there lies a Treasure Chest, and inside Link can obtain another Piece of Heart

  2. "Hero...chosen by the gods... Look for...my light... Gather the light stolen by the shadows...into this... ...The insects of darkness... They are the form taken...by the evil that attached itself...to my scattered light..." — Eldin, Twilight Princess.
  3. "In this shadowy twilight...the shadow insects are invisible, much as the people from your light world are... With the last of my power...let me mark your map...with the locations...of the tears that have turned into...shadow insects..." — Eldin, Twilight Princess.
  4. "My name is Eldin. I am one of the light spirits of Hyrule. I am the spirit that guards these lands. O great hero chosen by the gods... The dark power you seek lies in the sacred grounds of the proud mountain dwellers. But already those grounds have been defiled, draped in shadow and seeded with evil. You must go to those sacred grounds and cleanse them." — Eldin, Twilight Princess.
