Magic Beans are recurring Items in The Legend of Zelda series. Once planted in patches of soft soil, they can be grown into magic plants that transport the user to otherwise unreachable locations.

Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time, Magic Beans can be purchased from the Bean Seller. The price starts at 10 Rupees for the first Magic Bean, but increases by +10 Rupees for each subsequent purchase; Link can purchase up to ten Magic Beans before the Bean Seller is sold out.

During the child era, Magic Beans can be planted in patches of soft soil scattered around Hyrule; In the adult era, planted Magic Beans will have grown into a leaf that can send Link to otherwise unreachable locations (though some locations can also be reached with the Scarecrow's Song). Additionally, in the child era, playing the Song of Storms near a planted Magic Bean causes it to grow and release several Fairies before returning to normal.

Majora's Mask

In Majora's Mask, Link can purchase Magic Beans from a Business Scrub in the Southern Swamp, next to the Swamp Tourist Center for 10 Rupees each; The Business Scrub will initially only sell Magic Beans to Deku Link, but after being given the Town Title Deed, he will move to South Clock Town and sell Beans regardless of Link's current form. In Majora's Mask 3D, Link can also purchase Magic Beans from the Trading Post for 100 Rupees each. However, both vendors will refuse to sell to Link unless he learns how they work; The Bean Seller will teach Link to use Magic Beans, giving him one as a free sample, and then selling them for the same price as the Business Scrub.

Magic Beans function similarly to their previous appearance, except they will instantly grow into plants when watered with Spring Water or the Song of Storms. Link's capacity has also been increased, enabling him to carry up to twenty Magic Beans.
