Ruto's Letter is a letter found in Ocarina of Time.

Ocarina of Time

Ruto's Letter can be found inside a bottle on the lakebed of Lake Hylia near the tunnel that leads to Zora's Domain. The letter was written by Ruto as a plea for help after being swallowed by Lord Jabu-Jabu.

"Help me. I'm waiting for you inside Lord Jabu-Jabu's belly.
Ruto
P.S. Don't tell my father!
"

Once obtained, Link can bring it to King Zora at Zora's Domain. Upon reading the letter, King Zora expresses concern for his daughter's well-being, moving aside so Link can enter Zora's Fountain where Lord Jabu-Jabu resides and save her.[1]

  1. "Ho, this letter! It's from Princess Ruto!! Hmmm...Let's see... She's inside Lord Jabu-Jabu? That's not possible! Our guardian god, Lord Jabu-Jabu, would never eat my dear Princess Ruto! But since that stranger, Ganondorf, came here, Lord Jabu-Jabu has been a little green around the gills... The evidence seems clear. Of course, you'll go find Ruto. You can pass through here to the altar of Lord Jabu-Jabu. I'll keep this letter. You keep the bottle it was in. Take it respectfully!" — King Zora, Ocarina of Time.
