The Hearty Truffle is a type of mushroom and material found in Breath of the Wild. They can rarely be found growing near trees across most of Central Hyrule and Necluda, usually in densely-forested areas, such as in the Ginner Woods by Hateno Village. This mushroom will restore 2 hearts when eaten raw, but can be increased if Link decides to cook it. Hearty Truffles can be used in a variety of Recipes, and they have an extra cooking effect of extra hearts.
Hearty Truffles will restore 2 hearts when eaten raw, or three if turned into a Toasted Hearty Truffle over an open flame, but far more if cooked in a Cooking Pot. A dish cooked with one Hearty Truffle will fully restore Link's hearts, plus grant at least one Temporary Heart on top. They can be further used in a variety of Recipes, and dishes cooked with them will always fully restore Link's health unless cancelled out with a competing effect.

A Hearty Truffle is a type of mushroom and material found in Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

"This rare mushroom has a rich scent. Cook it before eating to temporarily increase your maximum hearts."

— In-game description

Hearty Truffles will restore 2 hearts when eaten raw, or three if turned into a Toasted Hearty Truffle over an open flame, but far more if cooked in a Cooking Pot. A dish cooked with one Hearty Truffle will fully restore Link's hearts, plus grant at least one Temporary Heart on top. They can be further used in a variety of Recipes, and dishes cooked with them will always fully restore Link's health unless cancelled out with a competing effect.

Hearty Truffles can also be used to create Black Dye at the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village.

Location

Hearty Truffles are found sporadically throughout all of Hyrule. Unlike many of the other Mushrooms in the game, there aren't as many locations where they are very densely populated. Instead, while they do appear frequently, they are more spaced out. They can be found regularly in the Lanayru, Akkala, and Hebra provinces, plus the Ridgeland Tower region of Central Hyrule, although they are found to some degree everywhere other than the Great Plateau, Dueling Peaks Tower, and Eldin areas.

A couple areas where there is a small cluster of truffles are the two areas with trees, located directly west and northwest of Zora's Domain in the Upland Zorana. There aren't many trees on these mountains, but in the areas with tress at the higher elevations there are a handful of truffles.

Tears of the Kingdom

"This rare mushroom has a rich scent. It'll restore all your hearts and temporarily increase your maximum hearts when used in cooking."

A Hearty Truffle has a Fuse Attack Power of 1.

They are much less plentiful in Tears of the Kingdom, being generally found in Caves and Wells and often only in singular quantities at a time. A rare exception to this is the Sturnida Springs Cave, found at the Sturnida Secret Hot Spring in West Hebra, which houses a room containing multiple mushrooms of all types, including three Hearty Truffles and a Big Hearty Truffle.
