Hearty Bass is a type of fish and material found in Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

"This large fish lives near the shoreline. Its sizable body can store a lot of nutrients. When cooked into a dish, it will temporarily increase your maximum hearts."

— In-game description

Hearty Bass can typically be found in bodies of water, though they are most common in West Necluda and in the Akkala Highlands. This fish will restore two hearts when eaten raw, though the amount restored can be increased if Link decides to cook it. Their main effecy is in Recipes, where a single Hearty Bass will create a Hearty Fish Skewer which fully recovers Link's Heart Containers, and adds a minimum of 2 Temporary Hearts in addition. Adding more Hearty items will further increase the number of Temporary Hearts.

"This large fish lives near the water's edge. Its sizable body can store a lot of nutrients. When cooked into a dish, it will temporarily increase your maximum hearts."

— In-game description

Hearty Bass are much rarer in this game, located strictly in the West Hebra Sky Archipelago, where a total of 4 can be found swimming in two separate pools, and the North Tabantha Sky Archipelago, where another 4 can be collected in the pool of water on Lightcast Island amidst several Ancient Arowana. This fish will restore two hearts when eaten raw, though the amount restored can be increased if Link decides to cook it. Their main efficacy is in Recipes, where a single Hearty Bass will create a Hearty Fish Skewer which fully recovers Link's Heart Containers, and adds a minimum of 2 Temporary Hearts in addition.
