Sizzlefin Trout

Sizzlefin Trout is a type of fish found in Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

"This red trout prefers warm bodies of water. It has a special organ specifically for storing heat. When cooked into a dish, it will temporarily increase your resistance to the cold."

— In-game description

A Sizzlefin Trout can be eaten raw to recover 1 heart, or can be sold to shop-vendors all over Hyrule for 6 Rupees each. They can typically be found in warm bodies of water, such as the surrounding regions of the Eldin Region. Sometimes they can be found after killing a Rock Octorok, or stored inside of Crates and Barrels found in warmer regions. This material can be purchased from the Coral Reef shop in Zora's Domain for a price of 24 Rupees each.

Sizzlefin Trout can be used in many Recipes, and they have a cooking effect of cold resistance. If cooked on an open flame by itself, Link will receive a Roasted Trout, which heals 2½ hearts but has no stat-boosting effects. If dropped onto the ground in freezing climates, Link will receive a Frozen Trout which has the added effect of low level heat resistance for 1:00 minute.

Age of Calamity
