Amber is a material found in Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

"A fossilized resin with a caramelesque sheen to it. It's been valued as a component in decorations and crafting since ancient times."

— In-game description

Amber can be obtained from miscellaneous Chests in Breath of the Wild, from mining Ore Deposits, and is also a very common drop from the Stone Talus. The much weaker Stone Pebblits will also drop Amber on occasion when defeated.

It is required if Link wants to purchase the Amber Earrings from Fashion Passion in Gerudo Town, since 10 are necessary in the manufacture. Alternatively, they can be sold to shop-vendors such as Beedle for 30 Rupees each.

Locations

Amber is the most common of the Gems found in Breath of the Wild and it can be found abundantly in Treasure Chests throughout the Overworld. Amber is most commonly found in treasure chests on the Great Plateau, as well as in the Dueling Peaks Tower region. They also appear fairly often in treasure chests that are buried in the snow on the Gerudo Highlands.

  • Underwater in the pond next to the Oman Au Shrine on the Great Plateau.
  • There are two in treasure chests underwater at the east end of the River of the Dead on the Great Plateau.
  • In a wooden chest at the Bokoblin camp, located just northwest of the River of the Dead on the Great Plateau.
  • Underwater in a pond at the Eastern Abbey, just northwest of the Ja Baij Shrine on the Great Plateau.
  • Just west of the Hopper Pond, on a very high cliff on the Great Plateau.
  • Found behind a set of boulders, down the cliff when you exit the Shrine of Resurrection, located southwest of the Forest of Spirits.
  • Examine the large rock at the top of Mount Hylia to find an Amber.
  • East of the peak of Mount Hylia on the Great Plateau. There is wooden chest up against a ledge.
  • Just northeast of the Owa Daim Shrine. The Amber can be found in a treasure chest way down below behind a bombable wall. This can only be achieved after acquiring the Paraglider.

Amber is a common drop when defeating all variations of Stone Taluses and Pebblits, as well as a common yield from Ore Deposits and Rare Ore Deposits.

There is a 30% possibility of finding an Amber by melting snowballs with fire.[AB 1]
