Deku Nuts are items from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

Ocarina of Time

Deku Nuts can be used to temporarily stun enemies.[1] When thrown, a Deku Nut explodes, releasing a blinding light which stuns much weaker enemies. Deku Nuts are ineffective against bosses and armored enemies; however, they can also be used by both child and adult Link. Deku Nuts are also cheap to purchase, and are sold in virtually every store. They can also be found by killing most Deku Babas.

Link can carry 20 Deku Nuts initially, and can increase the capacity twice, by an additional ten nuts each time, allowing for a maximum of 40.

Majora's Mask

In Majora's Mask, Deku Nuts work largely as they do in Ocarina of Time. Deku Link can drop Deku Nuts while flying with deku flowers. Link can only ever carry 20 Deku Nuts—there are no capacity upgrades.

Super Smash Bros. series

First appearing in the Super Smash Bros. series in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Grounded characters hit by one are stunned, leaving them open to attack. Airborne characters take damage and are launched, possibly being KO'd in the process.
