One-handed weapons are a category of weapons in Breath of the Wild. One-handed weapons have many differences from other Breath Of The Wild weapons categories. When you preform a Perfect Dodge and get a Flurry Rush, you will get 8 hits out of it. One-handed weapons are lighter, and therefore quicker, but require four hits before a critical hit. Holding the attack button charges up a Spin Attack. Link can use a Shield while a one-handed weapon is drawn.

Master Sword

The Master Sword can be found in a pedestal in the Korok Forest, guarded by the Great Deku Tree. Link must have at least thirteen permanent (red) heart containers to draw it from its pedestal without dying. Initially, it has a base power of 30 damage; except when Link is in a Divine Beast, Hyrule Castle or is near a Guardian, when it will glow with a blue aura, its strength will boost to 60 damage - making it the most powerful single-handed weapon in the game - and its durability will increase. It can be permanently upgraded to this level through the DLC Trial of the Sword.

Like all other weapons in Breath of the Wild, it can be rendered unusable after extensive use. However, it is special in that the Sword will never break, or disappear from the inventory after obtaining it. After the Sword loses its energy, it will auto-repair itself gradually and return to normal after some time.

"The legendary sword that seals the darkness. Its blade gleams with a sacred luster that can oppose the Calamity. Only a hero chosen by the sword itself can wield it."

Tree Branch

Tree Branches can be found throughout Hyrule, but are one of the weakest weapons in the game; they do very little damage, with a base power of 2, and break easily. While they will burn up quickly, they can be used as a makeshift torch while on fire.

"Wooden branches such as this are pretty common, but it's surprisingly well-balanced. It doesn't do much damage, but can serve as a weapon in a pinch."

Torch

Torches are a tool which can be used to carry flames across distances without extinguishing; to burn grass, bushes, or wood to start a Campfire; or carry Blue Fire to light a furnace. Although it is classified as a weapon, it only has an attack power of 2 and has low durability.

"This torch will stay lit once ignited, but if you put it away, the flame will be extinguished until you light it again."

Soup Ladle

The Soup Ladle is a melee weapon. Link does not use it to serve soup. It has a base power of 4, and can mainly be found in villages across Hyrule. It is a simple wooden implement, with low durability, base power, and can catch fire.

"A kitchen implement often used for serving delicious soups. It was carved from the wood of a sturdy tree, so it actually packs quite the wallop."

Boomerang

Various Boomerangs can be found in Breath of the Wild, including this basic version. It can be used in melee like a sword, or thrown like a traditional boomerang in the Zelda series. If thrown, when it hits a solid object, it will lose all momentum and drop to the ground. In order to retrieve a boomerang after it has been thrown, the player must hit the A button as it nears Link to catch it. If Link fails to do so, it will keep going for a small distance and drop to the ground, where it can be picked up if accessible.

"This throwing weapon was originally used by the forest-dwelling Koroks. Its unique shape allows it to return after being thrown."

Spring-Loaded Hammer

The Spring Loaded Hammer is an unusual hammer. It has a base power of just 1, and can be obtained by visiting Kilton's shop; the Fang and Bone. He sells this item for 199 Mon. It is more of a novelty item rather than a respectable weapon, due to its often humiliating effect and low damage output.

"This strange hammer is one of Kilton's specialties. Being struck by it doesn't hurt much, but the forth swing in a string of attacks will send the victim flying."

Traveler's Sword

The Traveler's Sword is a one-handed sword. It has a base power of 5 and durability of 20. It is dented and scratched in appearance, with a short blade, short cross-guard, and a wooden grip. It's used by travelers to fend off small beast. Many NPCs that Link encounters throughout Hyrule are equipped with the Traveler's Sword. Some enemies will also wield them, such as Bokoblins and Stalkoblins in Hyrule Field and West Necluda.

"A very common sword often kept by travelers to fend off small beasts. It's fairly durable, but a bit unreliable against monsters."

Soldier's Broadsword

The Soldier's Broadsword has a base power of 14 and a base durability of 25. The Soldier's Broadsword sports a simple design, featuring a straight blade, a straight cross-guard, and a blue-grey ribbon wrapped around the grip. They are now commonly found wielded by Blue Bokoblins near Bokoblin Camps in Hyrule Field, as well as the Faron Grasslands.

"A sword brandished by the soldiers who once protected Hyrule Castle. Its durable blade is well tuned for slaying monsters."

Knight's Broadsword

The Knight's Broadsword has a base power of 26 and a base durability of 27. The design is similar to the Soldier's Broadsword, but with a wider cross-guard, a fancier blade, and a hibiscus colored ribbon enveloping the grip. It was once carried by Hyrulean Knights. This sword is typically wielded by Lizalfos and Moblins in the Western areas of Hyrule, including the Tabantha Frontier and Gerudo Desert regions.

"Knights of Hyrule once carried this sword. These days it's the weapon of choice for seasoned adventurers thanks to its ease of use and high attack power."

Royal Broadsword

The Royal Broadsword has a base power and durability of 36. The rather regal features a very fancy blade adorned with golden accents, a golden cross-guard, and a grip wrapped with purple ribbon. This sword was once gifted by the royal family to Hyrulean Knights who achieved remarkable feats. The Royal Broadsword is a common weapon of choice for Silver Bokoblins, Moblins, and Lizalfos in the Tabantha Frontier and Akkala Highlands. Additionally, it can be found worn around the necks of Blue and Black Hinoxi and can be dropped by Moldugas in the Gerudo Desert.

"The Hyrulean royal family would award this sword to knights who achieved remarkable feats. A sword that balances strength and beauty as elegantly as this one is a rare find."

Forest Dweller's Sword

The Forest Dweller's Sword has a base power of 22, and can be found in various locations in Hyrule, but they are most common in the Korok Forest. The sword is made entirely from wood, meaning it will catch fire if it is brought in close proximity with a flame. It also has a fairly low durability.

This sword must be equipped at all times whilst attempting The Test of Wood Shrine Quest, or Link will be disqualified and will be required to start over.

"Koroks made this sword for Hylians. It's made of wood, so it isn't the best choice for head-on attacks. Its original intent was likely clearing vines to forge paths through forests."

Zora Sword

The Zora Sword has a base power of 15, and can be found in various locations in Hyrule, but are most common in and around Zora's Domain. The sword is made entirely from metal, meaning in a thunderstorm lightning will be attracted to the blade, which will deal significant damage. In appearance, it is thin and elegant, sporting the classic Zora colors of blue and silver.

"The ornamentation that adorns this blade is a traditional Zora design. It's forged from a very durable and rust-proof metal."

Feathered Edge

The Feathered Edge is a sword with a base power of 15, and can be found in various locations all over Hyrule, but typically in close proximity to the Rito Village, such as the Tabantha region. It has a similar design to other Rito weapons, featuring the gold and silver color scheme and the striped ribbon on the grip.

"Rito craftsmen forged this lightweight, double-edged sword so Rito warriors could soar into battle unhindered by its weight."

Gerudo Scimitar

The Gerudo Scimitar is a curved blade with a base power of 16, and can be found in various locations in the Gerudo Region. It is a short, curved sword which bears a red gem on the cross-guard, and is silver and gold in appearance.

"This common sword is often carried by Gerudo women for self-defense. Its short, curved blade is easily recognized."

Moonlight Scimitar

The Moonlight Scimitar is a curved blade with a base power of 25, and can be found in various locations in the Gerudo Region. It is a fairly long, curved sword which is adorned with gemstones and Gerudo markings.

"Delicate Gerudo carvings decorate this curved sword. The engraved blade is extremely sharp. Apparently it once served ceremonial purposes in festivals."

Scimitar of the Seven

The Scimitar of the Seven is a curved blade which can be obtained by returning to Gerudo Town and speaking with Riju after defeating Thunderblight Ganon inside of the Divine Beast Vah Naboris. It has a power of 32.

"A famous sword once beloved by the Gerudo Champion Urbosa. It is said that when Urbosa swung this sword in battle, her movements resembled a beautiful dance."

Eightfold Blade

The Eightfold Blade has a base power of 15, and can be found in lone locations scattered across Hyrule, for example at one of the peaks at the Pillars of Levia. It is a slightly curved sword with a sharp gut tool at the base of the blade. The cross-guard is circular in design.

"A single-edged sword traditional to the Sheikah tribe. Forged using ancient technology, it's said to be among the sharpest conventional weapons ever made."

Ancient Short Sword

The Ancient Short Sword has a base power of 40, and can be obtained from "Cherry" in the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab for 1,000 Rupees, 15 Ancient Springs, 5 Ancient Shafts, and 2 Ancient Cores after lighting the Ancient Furnace. When Link is carrying this weapon, only the handle shows; the blue parts only show up once it is held in the hand.

"The blade of this ancient sword was made using an ancient power lost to this modern age. Its blade appears only when drawn, and its cutting power surpasses metal swords."

Rusty Broadsword

The Rusty Broadsword has a base power of 6, and can be found in lone locations around the majority of Hyrule. It appears to have once been a Knight's Broadsword, but has experienced severe damage, as the majority of the blade is rusted. With a durability of just 8, it is the most fragile of swords that Link can acquire; but with an attack power of 6, it is more powerful than the Traveler's Sword.

Like all of the other "Rusty" weapons that Link can acquire, he can toss it in front of a Rock Octorok. When the Rock Octorok inhales the sword, he will chew it up and spit it out back towards Link. This will upgrade the weapon and it can be spit out as a Traveler's Sword, Soldier's Broadsword, Knight's Broadsword, or even a Royal Broadsword.

Royal Guard's Sword

While the Royal Guard's Sword has a base power of 48, the base durability of 14 is very low, making it unreliable in battle. It features a black cross-guard with a crimson ribbon wrapped around the grip. Cosmetically, it's similar to the Royal Broadsword, with the only difference being the color scheme.

"A Sheikah-made replica of the sword that seals the darkness. It was made with ancient technology to oppose the Great Calamity, but its low durability made it inefficient."

Flameblade

The Flameblade is an elemental sword with a base power of 24. The blade has the ability to set enemies alight, but requires a short period of time to charge before unleashing flames once more. It has a rather thin grip, and the blade itself is made from metal which glows red hot once it is charged.

"This magical sword was forged in the lava of Death Mountain. It leaves white-hot flames in its wake when the blade glows red."

Frostblade

The Frostblade has the ability to freeze enemies, but requires a short period of time to charge before expelling the frost once more.

The Thunderblade is an elemental sword with a base power of 22. It has the ability to electrocute enemies, but requires a short period of time to recharge this power after use.

"A magical sword forged and refined by lightning from the Hyrule Hills. When the blade shines with a golden light, it will electrocute enemies struck by it."

Boko Club

Boko Clubs are very common weapons found on the Great Plateau, often near Monster Camps or in Bokoblin hands. They are fairly weak weapons and only should be used early on in Link's journey. They can be set on fire, making them usable as a makeshift, if short-lived, torch.

"A crude Bokoblin club made to clobber small prey. It's essentially a stick, so its durability is low."

Spiked Boko Club

The Spiked Boko Club is a wooden club with a base power of 12. The weapon is most commonly wielded by Blue Bokoblins in areas that are adjacent to the Great Plateau, including within the Gerudo Canyon Pass and in the Gerudo Desert. However, the weapon can occasionally be seen being used by Lizalfos in the Lake and Faron regions, as well as within the Lanayru Wetlands.

As the weapon is made of wood, it can be lit on fire and used as a torch.

"A reinforced Bokoblin club made to maximize damage. The sharpened bones jabbed into make it a brutal weapon."

Dragonbone Boko Club

The Dragonbone Boko Club is a wooden club with a base power of 24, it is considerably stronger than the Boko Club. The weapon can most commonly be found being used by Black Bokoblins. They are often found on the outskirts of the map, featured heavily in the Hebra, Akkala, and Gerudo Highlands regions. The Black Bokoblins that wield these clubs will often also wield the Dragonbone Boko Shield. The weapon can also be found being worn by the Middle Kin Hinox, found in the Uten Marsh.

"This Bokoblin club has been reinforced with fossilized bones to maximize clobbering potential. Only the brawniest of Bokoblins can manage its immense weight."

Lizal Boomerang

The Lizal Boomerang is a melee weapon and boomerang with a base power of 14, and is typically used by Green Lizalfos, in regions such as Faron. It has a wooden handle wrapped with leaves, and a sharpened blade which turns at a 90° angle to create the traditional boomerang shape.

"A curved sword favored by the Lizalfos. It can be used to attack directly or can be thrown like a boomerang."

The Lizal Forked Boomerang is a melee weapon and boomerang with a base power of 24, and is typically used by Blue Lizalfos, in regions such as Gerudo or Hebra. It has a wooden handle wrapped with leaves, and a sharpened blade which splits off in two directions, with two razor sharp points.

"Blue Lizalfos in particular like this weapon. It has one more blade than the Lizal boomerang to give it additional cutting power, and it still returns when thrown."

The Lizal Tri-Boomerang is a melee weapon and boomerang with a base power of 36, and is typically used by Black Lizalfos, in regions such as Hebra and Akkala. It has a wooden handle wrapped with leaves, and a sharpened blade which splits three ways.

"More blades mean more attack power! It can be used as a boomerang, but all those blades make that a bit more dangerous. Carried by Black Lizalfos seasoned in battle."

Guardian Sword

The Guardian Sword is a sword with a base power of 20, and can be obtained by defeating low-level Guardian Scouts in Shrine of Trials or Divine Beasts. When Link is carrying this weapon, only the handle shows; the blue parts only show up once it is held in the hand.

The Guardian Sword++ has a base power of 40, and can be obtained by defeating a Guardian Scout IV in Shrine of Trials, for example in Shrines labelled 'A Major Test of Strength'. When Link is carrying this weapon, only the handle shows; the blue parts only show up once it is held in the hand.

"The abilities of this Guardian sword have been boosted to the maximum., as evidenced by its increase in size. It slices through armor like a hot knife through butter!"

Lynel Sword

The Lynel Sword has a base power of 24, and can be obtained by defeating standard Lynels scattered in the overworld, for example on Ploymus Mountain. The blade is very large, but can still be wielded single-handed by Link.

"This Lynel-made sword was designed with smashing in mind rather than slicing. It's on the heavy side compared to what Hylians are used to, but it's very strong."

Mighty Lynel Sword

The Mighty Lynel Sword has a base power of 36, and can be obtained by defeating Blue-Maned Lynels. The blade is very large, but can still be wielded single-handed by Link.

"This Lynel-made sword boasts more blades and more attack power. A skilled Lynel can draw this sword simply in passing and still cut a foe in two."

Savage Lynel Sword

The Savage Lynel Sword has a base power of 58, and can be obtained by defeating White-Maned Lynels or Silver Lynels. The blade is very large, but can still be wielded single-handed by Link. The base power makes it the second-strongest one-handed weapon in the game, second only to the fully charged Master Sword, and it may be increased by certain attack bonuses.

"A brutal sword carried by white-haired Lynels. The savage blades are strong enough to cut down any foe, no matter how strong."

Fire Rod

The Fire Rod is an elemental rod with base melee power of 5. They can be found used by Fire Wizzrobes all over Hyrule, and can shoot rather large fireballs which can light objects on fire, such as grass or leaves. It can be used as an offensive tool, or one for solving puzzles.

"A magical rod that can cast fireballs, crafted by an ancient magician. The rod will break if it strikes something directly, so use it wisely."

Meteor Rod

The Meteor Rod is an elemental rod with base melee power of 10, but its main purpose is to cast powerful fireballs which have the ability to alight enemies. It is an upgraded version of the Fire Rod, with a higher damage output and the ability to cast three fireballs at any given time.

"A magical rod that can cast three fireballs at once, crafted by an ancient magician. It will break upon running out of magical energy, so make it last!"

Ice Rod

Ice Rods are dropped by Ice Wizzrobes and are the less powerful counterpart to the Blizzard Rod. Ice Rods can shoot projectiles of frost which freeze anything they hit.

"A magical rod crafted from refined ice found in the Hebra Mountains. This rod can cast waves of freezing air. Great for magic - not so great for melee."

Blizzard Rod

The Blizzard Rod is an elemental rod with base melee power of 10, but its main purpose is to cast powerful balls of frost which have the ability to freeze enemies in their tracks. It is an upgraded version of the Ice Rod, with a higher damage output and the ability to cast three balls of frost at any given time.

"A magical rod that can cast extreme cold in a wide range. These are crafted from refined ice found at the summit of Hebra peak. It will break when depleted."

Lightning Rod

The Lightning Rod is an elemental rod with base melee power of 5, but its main purpose is to cast powerful balls of electricity which have the ability to electrocute enemies. It can be obtained by defeating Electric Wizzrobes in battle; when it a guaranteed drop.

"A magical rod that can shoot balls of electricity. Its gem contains lightning from the Hyrule Hills. It's not recommended to use as a melee weapon."

Thunderstorm Rod

The Thunderstorm Rod is an elemental rod with base melee power of 10, but its main purpose is to cast powerful balls of electricity which have the ability to electrocute enemies. It is an upgraded version of the Lightning Rod, with a higher damage output and the ability to cast three balls of electricity at any given time, which are similar to those cast by Thunderblight Ganon.

"A magical rod that can hurl three balls of electricity at once. Its gem contains electricity from the Hyrule Hills, and the rod will break when that electricity runs out."

Vicious Sickle

The Vicious Sickle is a large sickle with a power of 16, and is a common weapon found in the Yiga Clan Hideout.

"A grim weapon favored by the Yiga. The half-moon shape of the blade allows for the rapid delivery of fatal wounds and serves as a symbol of their terror. Its durability is low."

Demon Carver

The Demon Carver is a circular, metal, spiked weapon with a base power of 40, and is a weapon sometimes used by senior members of the Yiga Clan, who occasionally teleport near Link after he has defeated Master Kohga in the Yiga Clan Hideout.

"This lethal weapon is forged by the Yiga. Its unique shape facilitates the sound dispatching of any target and strikes fear into the hearts of all who see it."

One-Hit Obliterator

The One-Hit Obliterator is a melee weapon used only in the EX The Champions' Ballad DLC main quest. It is able to defeat enemies with one blow, however Link will also be killed instantly if an enemy hits him whilst this item is equipped. Link cannot unequip it while he has it.

It is obtained as a part of the second DLC expansion for the game: 'The Champions' Ballad', in the Shrine of Resurrection, completing the Free the Divine Beasts Main Quest and accepting Monk Maz Koshia's quest on the Great Plateau.

"A weapon that defeats foes with one hit and causes the user to die within one hit. It loses its sheen and power after two consecutive uses, but it will eventually regain both."

Bokoblin Arm

Bokoblin arms are the still-wriggling limbs of Stalkoblins, which can be picked up when separated from the skeletal enemy and used as a weapon. With a base power of 5, it is one of the weakest melee weapons that Link can find. Furthermore, with a durability score of just 5, only the Tree Branch will break faster.

"A skeletal arm that keeps moving even after it's severed from its body. It's kind of gross to strap it to your back, but it'll do in a pinch. It's old and fragile, so it's quick to break."

Lizalfos Arm
