The Red ChuChu is one of the more common forms of the recurring The Legend of Zelda enemy, the ChuChu.[1] The basic ChuChu is a blob of a certain color of a type of gelatin. Red ChuChus are red in color, but are one of the more basic types of ChuChus and pose little threat compared to other types of ChuChus. They are in six of the different titles, but they have different appearances in almost all of the games.

Majora's Mask

That's a Red Chuchu. It's nothing
really to be afraid of! It's not
unusual to find something in its
stomach that might be of use.

In Majora's Mask, ChuChus are round-shaped blobs of jelly with two stalks that hold their eyes. Red ChuChus in this game are no exception, and have the same shape as all the other ChuChus in the game. Inside the Red ChuChu is a visible Recovery Heart, which is dropped when they are defeated easily by almost any weapon. In this game, the ChuChu quickly re-generates back into its old form after Link defeats it.

The Wind Waker

Red ChuChus in The Wind Waker are commonly found scattered around the Great Sea, and are the easiest of all the ChuChus to find. They have no defense, unlike other ChuChus in this game, and only bounce after Link when they spot him. After they are defeated, they drop Chu Jelly, which can be given to Doc Bandam in the Chu Jelly Juice Shop of Windfall Island as an ingredient for a Red Potion.

There are ChuChus of many different colors, all with their own distinct characteristics. In general, they are most susceptible to projectile weapons.

The Minish Cap

Red ChuChus are found mainly in overworlds and dungeons in The Minish Cap, but like rocky areas such as Mt. Crenel. Red ChuChus are a bit stronger than their Green ChuChus counterparts as they will take a half heart of damage if they attack Link. Link will need to slash a Red ChuChu twice to defeat it.

Phantom Hourglass

Red ChuChus are very common in Phantom Hourglass and they are the most simplistic form of ChuChu. They can be found on many of the islands, and their lone attack is to slowly walk into Link. They are easily defeated and serve more as a distraction than a major dangerous enemy.

Spirit Tracks

Red ChuChus are almost exactly the same in Spirit Tracks as they are in Phantom Hourglass. They are basic enemies and move incredibly slowly. Their only attack is to jump towards Link, which will do 1/2 heart of damage if they contact Link. They can be defeated with any weapon, though a simple sword slash works fine.

Skyward Sword

Red ChuChus take on a new shape in this game, appearing more as rounded blobs than standing up creatures. Their mouth takes up almost all of their body, and the larger ChuChus can be split into smaller ChuChus before they are defeated. The Red ChuChu also has a new ability: fire. Red ChuChus in Skyward Sword have fire embedded into their gelatin, making them extremely hot. If Link gets touched by one of the Red ChuChus, he will be set on fire and will have to roll on the ground or do a Spin Attack to put the fire out.

Battle Quest

Despite looking soft and adorable, these creatures can deliver a nasty surprise. Chuchu jelly is medicinal, but don't get any brilliant ideas--Nintendo Land Chuchus are 100% jelly free.

Red ChuChu are some of the most simplistic enemies featured in Battle Quest. They are the very first enemies Link encounters in the first level of the game, The Grasslands. One swipe from Link's Sword or one shot from the Hero's Bow and the Red ChuChu will be defeated.
