Ocarina of Time
Deku Nuts are the dried buds of Deku Babas. They can be obtained by defeating Deku Babas, but may also be found inside Jars or in trees. Link can purchase Deku Nuts from shops, costing 15 Rupees for 5 Nuts, or from Business Scrubs for 20 Rupees per 5 Nuts. Deku Nuts can be used as stun grenades[1]; When thrown, the Deku Nut explodes, releasing a blinding flash that will stun enemies caught in it; however, bosses and armored enemies are immune. Deku Nuts are also used as ammo for the Deku Slingshot.
Link can carry up to 20 Deku Nuts at the beginning of the game, but he can upgrade the capacity to 30, and then to 40, via the following upgrades:
Majora's Mask
In Majora's Mask, Deku Nuts work largely as they do in Ocarina of Time. Deku Link can drop Deku Nuts while flying with deku flowers. Link can only ever carry 20 Deku Nuts—there are no capacity upgrades.
Non-Canon Appearances
This section describes a subject that is or may be outside the core Zelda canon. |
Super Smash Bros. series
First appearing in the Super Smash Bros. series in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Grounded characters hit by one are stunned, leaving them open to attack. Airborne characters take damage and are launched, possibly being KO'd in the process.
