Sunset Firefly

"These fireflies glow gently in the dark. When cooked with monster parts, the compound that causes it to glow results in an elixir that will allow you to move more quietly."

Breath of the Wild In-Game Description

Sunset Firefly is a nocturnal insect found in Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity.

Appearances

Breath of the Wild

When a Sunset Firefly is cooked with monster parts, a Sneaky Elixir can be created, which will increase your Stealth. This item can be sold to shop-vendors all over Hyrule for 2 Rupees each. It can also be used at the Kochi Dye Shop as an ingredient for Purple Dye.

These Fireflies are found in forested areas during the nighttime. They do appear throughout parts of the Great Plateau as well as within Kakariko Village. They are most abundantly found in the Lake Tower region, around the bridge, just south of the Zonai Ruins. They are also very abundant around the Rutile Lake in the Ridgeland Tower region. A fair amount can also be found at the north end of Molida Island within the Lanayru province.

When approaching a Firefly, Link will need to use stealth, by either walking very slowly, kneeling down, or using armor with a stealth upgrade. If Link gets too close, the Firefly will be scared off and will disappear. While they appear at nighttime, they are most abundant between midnight and 3am. Although they will not appear when it is raining.
