Stals are enemies that appear in A Link to the Past.

Appearances

A Link to the Past

Stals are enemies that look like a harmless skull, but when Link makes contact with it, it will come alive, hopping towards Link. These creatures are found throughout the Overworld, often found alongside standards skulls that do not come alive when touched.

If a Stal is able to come into contact with Link, it will do a full heart of damage. These enemies are easily disposed of, being defeated with one slash from Link's Master Sword. The Stal are also one of the enemies that Link can turn into Slime by sprinkling Magic Powder.

Stal are often found underneath bushes and grass. When Link is dashing through some grass or slashing at it with his sword, a Stal may appear and start hopping towards Link.
