"Although originally an aquatic species, this type has adapted to life in the forest. They hide among the trees, disguising themselves as grass or unassuming shrubbery, and then attack when someone wanders by."
A Forest Octorok is an enemy in Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity.
Appearances
Breath of the Wild
They can be found in forests, where they make their home beneath small shrubs. If they spot Link, they will jump out of the ground and fire a rock towards him at incredible speed, and with a high accuracy. The best way to defeat them is to wait until they jump out of the ground, then loosing an arrow into them. They only have 8 HP so most bows will be able to take them out in one shot.Another way to defeat them is dodging their shots until you get close, then hitting their shrub with a weapon. After this is done, they will pop out of the ground confused. Then you can hit them with almost any weapon and kill them in one shot. Upon death they may drop an assortment of Octorok items, as well as some fish.
Age of Calamity
Forest Octoroks in Age of Calamity appear in forest based areas. They are fairly weak enemies that can be defeated with a single hit. Upon being defeated, they may drop an Octorok Tentacle, Octorok Eyeball, or a Octo Balloon. After each Forest Octorok is defeated, the player will receive an Octorok Trophy, which can be used to complete quests or upgrade weapons of the various warriors.
