Spikes are enemies in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. They are spiky, metallic balls that disguise themselves as rocks. When Link is close to them, they extend their spikes and roll toward him.

Spike |
Spikes only appear in the Water Temple. They are first found in the main room on the sunken sand of the lowest floor.
They can be defeated once their spikes are retracted. Underwater, Link can only defeat them with the Hookshot. If they are spiked, Link can shoot them with the Hookshot or use his shield against them to un-spike them, and then shoot them one more time to defeat them.
