In The Legend of Zelda, Pols Voices are quite dangerous. They hop around the screen causing two hearts of damage anytime they touch Link. Their jumps could take them over blocks and water making them even more dangerous. The easiest way to defeat them is by shooting an arrow at them with the Bow. They can also be destroyed with ten sword slashes with the original sword, but it is much faster to use the Bow.

Pols Voices are referred to as a "ghost" in the Instruction Booklet of The Legend of Zelda, as well as in The Great Hyrule Encyclopedia. They can be found within two dungeons of the game: Level 5: The Lizard and Level 8: The Lion. In the Second Quest, they can be found in Level 2, Level 4, and Level 7.
They hop around the screen trying to attack Link by bashing into him. Unlike most enemies, the Pols Voice is invulnerable to your sword. The easiest way to defeat a Pols Voice is to play your Ocarina near them. Playing Ballad of the Wind Fish with your ocarina will instantly kill any Pols Voice on the screen. If you don't have the ocarina yet, they can be killed by shooting an arrow or throw something at them, such as a nearby pot or rock. Though your sword does not harm it, it will push the Pols Voice back allowing you a bit of time to grab something to throw at it. Bombs will also harm the Pols Voice, but it may be hard to time your hits using them.

Oracle of Ages
Link's Awakening
Like the previous games, they hop around the room that they inhabit in an attempt to bump into Link. They are fairly fast whenever they jump, so it's sometimes best to keep moving around the room whenever there are Pols Voice present. These enemies cannot be defeated by normal means. But, with one play of the Harp of Ages or your animal friend's Flute, you can defeat them easily. Alternatively, Bombs also work against a them.

The latest appearance of Pols Voice in the Zelda Series is in Phantom Hourglass. They look very much like the original concept art for the Pols Voice. There are only a few Pols Voices in this game. They are all found in the Temple of Courage, and must be defeated to progress through the temple. The trick to attacking it is first to blow into the mic. The Pols Voice will cover up it's large ears, allowing Link to whack it with his Sword. After defeated, it will drop a Small Key, and Link will be able to continue.

Pols Voices are recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series. Their recurring weakness is sound, and thus in some games, they can be defeated by using loud sounds.

The Legend of Zelda

In The Legend of Zelda, Pols Voices are quite dangerous. They hop around the screen causing two hearts of damage anytime they touch Link. Their jumps could take them over blocks and water making them even more dangerous. The easiest way to defeat them is by shooting an arrow at them with the Bow. They can also be destroyed with ten sword slashes with the original sword, but it is much faster to use the Bow.

In the Japanese version of the game, Pols Voices could be defeated by shouting into the microphone that was built into the controllers of the Nintendo Famicom.

Pols Voices are referred to as a "ghost" in the Instruction Booklet of The Legend of Zelda,[1] as well as in The Great Hyrule Encyclopedia.[2] They can be found within two dungeons of the game: Level 5: The Lizard and Level 8: The Lion. In the Second Quest, they can be found in Level 2, Level 4, and Level 7.

Link's Awakening

Pols Voices hop around the screen trying to attack Link by bashing into him. Unlike most enemies, they are invulnerable to Link's sword. The easiest way to defeat them is to play the Ocarina near them. Playing the Ballad of the Wind Fish with the Ocarina will instantly defeat them on the screen. If Link does not have the Ocarina yet, they can be defeated by shooting an arrow or throwing something at them, such as a nearby pot or rock. Though Link's sword cannot harm them, it can push them back, allowing him a bit of time to grab something to throw at them. Bombs can also harm them, but it may be hard to time the hits.

Oracle of Seasons

Like the previous games, Pols Voices hop around the room that they inhabit in an attempt to bump into Link. They are fairly fast whenever they jump, so it is sometimes best to keep moving around the room whenever they are present. They can be defeated with the Flute that Link obtains from either Moosh, Ricky, or Dimitri.

Oracle of Ages

Pols Voices are identical in appearance and behavior to their previous appearance in Oracle of Seasons. With one play of the Harp of Ages or Link's animal friend's Flute, he can defeat them easily.

Phantom Hourglass

In Phantom Hourglass, Pols Voices look very much like the original concept art for the Pols Voice. There are only a few in this game. They are all found in the Temple of Courage, and must be defeated to progress through the temple. The trick to attacking them is first to blow into the mic. They will cover up their large ears, allowing Link to whack them with his sword. After being defeated, they will drop a Small Key, and Link will then be able to continue.

Trivia

 • In The Legend of Zelda Instruction Booklet, it is revealed that the Pols Voice are vulnerable to sound.[1] This vulnerability to sound only applies to the Japanese release of The Legend of Zelda, due to the Famicom's integrated microphone in the controller, but the text remains in international releases.
