Gale (Sister)

Haily is a female character who appears in The Minish Cap. She and her sister Gale are members of the Wind Tribe who primarily live within the Tower of Winds. Haily is the youngest known member of the tribe.

Her first appearance in the game is alongside Gale at the Picori Festival. She and her sister both had come to watch the festival.[1] Later in the game, Link meets Hailey at Cloud Tops. Initially Hailey is surprised that Link has made it as usually surface dwellers can't walk on the clouds like members of the Wind Tribe. Hailey states that ever since they returned from the Picori Festival, enemies have started to appear everywhere. She bets that if she could fuse a Kinstone, she could call a homeward wind. However, due to the abundance of enemies on Cloud Tops, she is unable to search for Kinstones. Hailey will then ask Link if he can search for Kinstones for her.[2]

They cannot get home due to a whirlwind blocking their way.[3] After Link turns on all of the fans and blows away the whirlwind, they retreat to their home. Soon after, Link finds her at the fourth floor of the Tower of Winds, where she and Link can fuse Kinstones. Hailey will tell Link that on the roof there is a huge whirlwind that will take Link to the Palace of Winds.[4]

Link is able to fuse Green Kinstones with Hailey. As it is a Green Kinstone fusion, it is not set to a specific treasure chest, but instead, one of the many possible treasure chests. There is one random Red Kinstone within the game that opens up a location in the Hyrule Castle Garden leading to a Piece of Heart, as well as a random Blue Kinstone that opens up a tree in North Hyrule Field leading to a Fairy Fountain. Hailey is one of the many characters in which Link can make these Kinstone fusions with.

  1. "People from all over the place come to Hyrule Town for the Picori Festival." — Hailey, The Minish Cap.
  2. "Wahh! You surprised me! Normally, surface dwellers can't walk on the clouds like we do! My sister and I went to the Picori Festival in Hyrule Town, and when we came back, there were monsters everywhere! I bet if I could just fuse a Kinstone, I could call a good homeward wind... But there are monsters about, so I can't search for Kinstones. And even if I could, I still can't find anyone to fuse them with! But you look pretty strong! Do you think you could maybe search for Kinstones for me? If you do, I'll tell you about a good spot for fusing!" — Hailey, The Minish Cap.
  3. "The Picori Festival in Hyrule Town was really fun and all... But how unlucky to be stranded here, unable to return home!" — Hailey, The Minish Cap.
  4. "Up on the roof, there's a huge whirlwind that can take you up to the palace." — Hailey, The Minish Cap.
