The Stranger, Strato[1], is a Wind Tribe member from The Minish Cap.
The Minish Cap
"Stranger" lives in a yellow-roofed house in the western portion of Hyrule Town. When Link can first reach this house, he is able to fuse a Red Kinstone with the Stranger. Doing so will create a Portal in South Hyrule Field that leads to the Palace of Winds in the Cloud Tops. This will allow Link to enter this Tower early where he can save Gregal, who will later reward Link with the Light Arrows.
Stranger is one of the first members of the Wind Tribe that Link will communicate with and he makes it apparent that he is different from the rest of the citizens of Hyrule Town, based on his clothing.[2] Despite not being natively being from Hyrule Town, Stranger describes the town as not being so bad and he likes it there.[3]
Trivia
- Stranger is not given any other name within The Minish Cap, but The Legend of Zelda: Encyclopedia refers to him as "Strato" within the Minish Cap character chart[1]. (The name "Strato" exists within the text of the game, in a list of names, but "Stranger" also appears in the same list with no obvious connection between the two.)
- Another Wind Tribe member, with the same sprite, is called "Strata" in the Nintendo Player's Guide for The Minish Cap[4]. However, that guide refers to this character only as "Stranger", the Encyclopedia does not mention Strata at all, and no explicit connection has been drawn between the two.
