Hailey (Sister)

Gale is a female character who appears in The Minish Cap. She and her sister Hailey are members of the Wind Tribe who primarily live within the Tower of Winds.

Her first appearance in the game is alongside Gale at the Picori Festival. She and her sister both had come to watch the festival. Gale has a fascination for the Minish and wants to see what they look like[1]. Later in the game, Link meets Gale and she is surprised that a surface dweller like Link is able to walk on the Cloud Tops. Much like her sister Hailey, she will plead her case to Link, explaining that ever since they returned from the Festival they lost the wind and have not been able to get back home to the Tower of Winds[2]

Gale will hint to Link that Kinstones are sometimes found within the clouds.[3]

Link is able to fuse a Red Kinstone with Gale. This will cause a passage to appear in a waterfall within the Veil Falls. This will lead Link to acquiring a Piece of Heart.

Link is able to fuse Green Kinstones with Gale. As it is a Green Kinstone fusion, it is not set to a specific treasure chest, but instead, one of the many possible treasure chests. There is one random Red Kinstone within the game that opens up a location in the Hyrule Castle Garden leading to a Piece of Heart, as well as a random Blue Kinstone that opens up a tree in North Hyrule Field leading to a Fairy Fountain. Gale is one of the many characters in which Link can make these Kinstone fusions with.

  1. "My sister and I came a long way to see the Picori Festival this year. Is it true the festival's named after tiny people the size of my thumb? I want to see what they look like! Do you know where I can go to see them?" — Gale, The Minish Cap.
  2. "Oh, this is bad. This is really bad... Oh, hey! Wow... Look at that! I've never seen a surface dweller walk on clouds before! You must be quite pure of heart! Maybe one such as you would listen to my tale of woe. You see, I went down to the surface with my sister for the Picori Festival... But on our way home, we lost the wind entirely! Now, we can't get home!" — Gale, The Minish Cap.
  3. "I hear that Kinstone pieces are sometimes hidden among the clouds!" — Gale, The Minish Cap.
