Ocarina of Time
The Golden Scale enables Link to dive up to nine metres deep into water, three metres deeper than the Silver Scale, before needing a breath of air. Although this item is very useful, it is not necessary to complete the game.
The Golden Scale is given to Link by the owner of the Fishing Pond as a reward for presenting him with a fish of 13 pounds or more in weight.
Link can use it in the Lakeside Laboratory to obtain a Piece of Heart - by diving to the bottom of the pool inside the laboratory, the Lakeside Scientist will award Link a Piece of Heart.
