"Often found on the ground near trees. Squirrels adore this nut, so you may have competition while foraging. Add one to a meal for a nutty seasoning."

— In-Game Description

The Acorn is a common material found in Breath of the Wild. They can typically be found in forested areas of Hyrule, either on the ground near trees or by felling trees. Acorns are first found in the Forest of Spirits on the Great Plateau. They are also found abundantly on the ground by the large trees in the Sage Temple Ruins, located in the west part of the Central region.

The Bushy-Tailed Squirrel will also drop an acorn when killed. Acorns can be sold to shop-vendors all over Hyrule for 2 Rupees each. They can also be used for brown dye at the Kochi Dye Shop.

Cooking

Uncooked acorns will restore ¼ of a heart. If cooked on an open flame, Link will obtain a Roasted Acorn which will restore ½ of a heart. Acorns can be used in a variety of recipes, but they have no special cooking effects. They can also be added to an elixir to give the elixir healing properties it would not otherwise have.
