"Mount Lanayru is an extraordinarily cold mountain to the south of Zora's Domain. This sacred place, named for the Goddess of Wisdom, Nayru, is off limits to anyone under the age of seventeen since they lack the requisite wisdom to be there. The Spring of Wisdom sits at the top."

Mount Lanayru

Mount Lanayru is a large mountain found in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, located in the south-eastern corner of the Lanayru region. It is located north of Hateno Village, where it is the largest mountain that is part of the Lanayru Range. The Spring of Wisdom is located on the mountain.

Breath of the Wild

Given its higher elevation and colder climate, Link will need to wear armor that has Cold Resistance, such as the Snowquill Set, in order to survive the colder climate.

Naydra, one of the three dragons, can be found at the peak of Mount Lanayru, near the Spring of Wisdom. Initially Naydra is trapped at the peak of the mountain, but Link is able to free him as part of The Spring of Wisdom shrine quest. This will give Link access to the Jitan Sa'mi Shrine, near the peak of the mountain.

Just northwest of the mountain's peak, there is an ice block that can be melted to find a Korok. A second ice block with a Korok is found a bit further away, also northwest of the peak. To the northeast of the peak, there are some trees with a ton of Chillshrooms around the area. There is also a circle of rocks with one missing rock. Place the rock in the proper spot to get another Korok Seed.

The Spring of Wisdom

If Link speaks with Medda at Hateno Village, this will begin The Spring of Wisdom shrine quest, where Medda guides Link to the top of Mount Lanayru. When Link reaches the peak, he will find Naydra trapped. After eliminating one of the Malice Eyeballs from Naydra's body, the dragon will be free and will fly around the mountain. Link will need to follow Naydra around Mount Lanayru, the Madorna Mountain, and Naydra Snowfield, eliminating the three remaining Malice Eyeballs.

Once all the Malice Eyeballs are gone, Link will return to the top of the mountain where he can then shoot Naydra with an arrow to get Naydra's Scale. Link can then offer Naydra's Scale to statue to, which will complete the quest.

Jitan Sa'mi Shrine

The Jitan Sa'mi Shrine is accessed after completing The Spring of Wisdom Shrine Quest. The actual shrine is just a blessing shrine, with the treasure chest containing a Frostspear. After getting the item, Link can speak with Jitan Sa'mi to get a Spirit Orb.

Tears of the Kingdom

Mount Lanayru is the massive mountain found at the east end of Hyrule. The temperature is bitterly cold at the mountain, requiring Link to have multiple levels of Cold Resistance in order to survive. The Mountain overlooks the Lanayru Sea to the east, and Lanayru Bay to the north.

The Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower can be found at the top of Mount Lanayru. Unlike some of the other Skyview Towers in the area, Link can simply walk up to the tower and activate it, without having to repair anything in the surrounding area.

Northeast of the tower, at a lower elevation, Addison can be found holding up a Hudson Sign. Link can chop down some trees and use the Logs to hold up the sign. As a thanks, Addison will reward Link with a Red Rupee, some Spicy Seafood Rice Balls, and a Muddle Bud.

Just southeast of the mountain, a dangerous Gloom Spawn can be found.

Korok Seeds

  • Northwest of the tower on top of one of the ice peaks, there is a Dandelion. Hit it and catch it before it hits the ground to get the Korok Seed.
  • Well northwest of the skyview tower, and directly north of the Naydra Snowfield Chasm, there is a group of pine trees. One of the trees is completely empty of branches. Climb to the top and examine the lights to get the Korok Seed.
  • Northeast of the Skyview Tower, there is a Frost Talus at Lanayru Range North. Just southwest of the Frost Talus, on the higher ledge, there is a cork. Attach a Log to it and throw it over the cliff to get the Korok Seed.
