"Years of going unpicked have allowed this hearty truffle to grow quite large. It's chock- full of nutrients. When cooked into a dish, it temporarily increases your maximum hearts."

— In-Game Description

Overview

The Big Hearty Truffle is a type of mushroom and material found in Breath of the Wild. This mushroom will restore 3 hearts when eaten raw, but can be increased if Link decides to cook it into a Toasted Big Hearty Truffle over an open flame. Big Hearty Truffles can be used in a variety of Recipes, and they have an extra cooking effect of extra hearts. Big Heart Truffles can also be used to create Black Dye at the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village.

Location

Big Heart Truffles are rare mushrooms that appear primarily in the Hebra and Akkala regions of Hyrule. As they are not very common, they do not appear in large clusters. However, there are a handful in the Torin Wetland, just east of the Akkala Tower. There are also a few in the forest, just north of the Spring of Power in Akkala. There are a few located in the Woodland and Tabantha regions as well, but they are very spaced out. They are a handful just off the path, near trees on the road that leads northeast to the Snowfield Stable.
