"This two-handed weapon was once wielded by the Goron Champion Daruk. Daruk made swinging it around look easy, but a Hylian would need and immense amount of strength."

Breath of the Wild In-Game Description

The Boulder Breaker is a two-handed weapon found in Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity. It was the signature weapon of Daruk until his death, and is later inherited by Link.

Breath of the Wild

The Boulder Breaker has a very slow use time, an attack power of 60, and a durability of 60. It can be used to mine Ore Deposits with great efficiency. This weapon can be obtained in Goron City after completing the Divine Beast Vah Rudania, for which it is gifted to Link from the town elder Bludo. It once belonged to the Goron Champion Daruk. True to its name, the Boulder Breaker is very effective against every single type of Stone Talus, including all variants, dealing double damage to them and making it the single most effective weapon against them.

The Boulder Breaker cannot have attack up or durability up effects.

If Link loses or breaks the Boulder Breaker, he can go to Rohan, the Goron City Blacksmith, to ask for a new one. He will need a Cobble Crusher, a Diamond, and five pieces of Flint.

Age of Calamity

This section is a stub. You can help the Zelda Dungeon Wiki by expanding it.

The Boulder Breaker is Daruk's initial weapon.

It has two hidden seals[1]:

  • Level 25: Strong-Attack Damage: +7%
  • Level 30: Damage to Locked-On Target: +10%

Tears of the Kingdom

The Boulder Breaker becomes obtainable once Link has finished the Yunobo of Goron City portion of the Main Quest, ending with the defeat of the Marbled Gohma. Link can then go to the blacksmith's hut in Goron City and talk to Rohan and Fugo to initiate the Soul of the Gorons sidequest, where he will need to bring them a Cobble Crusher, three Diamonds, and five pieces of Flint to build the Boulder Breaker. These will be the required materials every time Link returns to Fugo for further Boulder Breakers, which he can only re-obtain after the previous Boulder Breaker has been broken or lost. The Boulder Breaker has been substantially nerfed from its Breath of the Wild iteration, now possessing a base power of 38 and like the Cobble Crusher, deals 1.5x the usual damage against Talus and Frox weak points.
