"This medicinal plant grows in hot regions, such as the Gerudo Desert. It's warm to the touch and increases your cold resistance when cooked into a dish."

— In-Game Description

The Warm Safflina is a type of plant and material found in Breath of the Wild. They are found almost exclusively in the Gerudo Desert, predominantly, north and northwest of Gerudo Town, as well as just north of Kara Kara Bazaar around the Dako Tah Shrine. A few of them can also be found in the East Gerudo Ruins. Warm Safflina are easily distinguishable due to their bright colors.

They can be sold to shop-vendors all over Hyrule for 3 Rupees each. They can also be used for Orange Dye at the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village.

Cooking

If Link cooks a Warm Safflina by itself, it will create Spicy Fried Wild Greens. This dish will not recover any health, but it will give Link Cold Resistance. This is particularly useful around the Gerudo Desert, as the desert becomes very cool during the nighttime. When cooked with fruit or meat, Link can create Spicy Steamed Fruit or Spicy Steamed Meat, which can recover Link's health, while also giving Link some Cold Resistance.

Enhancements

This material can be used to enhance Link's Armor in the game. In particular, Warm Safflina can be used to enhance the Snowquill Set. The Level 2 upgrades of the Snowquill Tunic, Snowquill Headdress, and Snowquill Trousers each require three Warm Safflinas, along with five Red Chuchu Jelly.
