History
Spoiler Alert! This section describes a subject that is sensitive to plot development. |
After gaining membership of the Gerudo, they allow Link to travel onward to the Haunted Wasteland. With the help of the Lens of Truth and Phantom Guide, Link arrives, but finds the way beyond the Spirit Temple's entrance lobby blocked. Exiting, he finds Sheik, who tells him to return as a child, and teaches him the Requiem of Spirit so that he can warp directly to the Triforce Pedestal, bypassing the Gerudo and the Wasteland.
As a child, he is tasked with retrieving the Silver Gauntlets from the Spirit Temple by Nabooru, but just as he finds them, he looks out onto the Colossus to see Nabooru being kidnapped by Koume and Kotake. He then travels back to the future, where he can use the Gauntlets to enter the rest of the Spirit Temple and save Nabooru.
Points of Interest
Besides the Spirit Temple and accompanying Triforce Pedestal, the Desert Colossus also holds Piece of Heart #36; a dried Oasis which will yield fairies if filled using the Song of Storms; and a Great Fairy Fountain, where a Great Fairy of Magic will grant Link Nayru's Love.
Pieces of Heart
: Next to the entrance of the Spirit Temple is a soft soil location. As a child, warp to the Desert Colossus using the Requiem of Spirit, then come back as an adult and ride it. Near the end of its travels, it will go over the stone archway where there is a Piece of Heart. Jump off and collect.
Gold Skulltulas
#92: Warp to the Desert Colossus as a child using the Requiem of Spirit, then drop some bugs into the Soft Soil location just outside of the Spirit Temple to get a Gold Skulltula to appear.
#93: (Night only) Having planted a magic bean in the soft soil as a child; return as an adult at nighttime (playing the Sun's Song if necessary) and ride the Magic Bean plant to a large rock, near the north-central portion of the map to find a Skulltula there.
