Moldorms are recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series. They are usually small land-dwelling creatures that are like long worms. In more recent games, they have taken the appearance of a more centipede-like enemy instead of worm-like. In some games, Moldorms appear as Bosses.

The Legend of Zelda

In The Legend of Zelda, Moldorms appear in Level 2 and in Level 7 in the First Quest, or Level 1 and Level 8 in the Second Quest. They can be defeated by slashing one part of their body at a time, until they have finally been reduced to one piece, at which time a final slash will do them in. In the last dungeon of the game, Moldorms are replaced by a tougher enemy known as a Lanmola.

A Link to the Past

Moldorm is the boss of the Tower of Hera. Moldorm later appears as a mini-boss in Ganon's Tower. Smaller enemies known as Mini-Moldorm appear, which share many of the same characteristics as Moldorm, with much less health.

Link's Awakening

Moldorm is the Nightmare found within Tail Cave. Mini-Moldorms also make a re-appearance.

Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages

Larger Moldorm do not make an appearance in Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, but there smaller mini-moldorm counterparts do. They are identical to their Link's Awakening DX versions, taking just a couple sword slashes to defeat.
