Gaining Entrance

Gold Skulltulas
#58: In the large lava room with the broken bridge, found very early in the dungeon, turn to the left to see a Time Block on a higher ledge. Stand on the lower platform and play the Song of Time when Navi turns green. Climb up and enter the room here. Defeat the Floor Tiles and Like Like to find the Gold Skulltula on the back wall.
#59: In the boulder maze room of the Fire Temple, there is a bombable wall near the northeast portion of the room. It is located on the bottom floor, right beneath the overhang. Slash Link's sword against the wall and the false sound of the wall will indicate it can be bombed. Drop a bomb and defeat the Skulltula.
#60: In the boulder maze room of the Fire Temple, once on the higher level after passing through the room with the fire wall closing the room behind Link, turn to the right and play the Scarecrow's Song. Hookshot to Pierre and then Hookshot to the secret elevator. Go through the door and climb the grate to find the Skulltula.
#61: After collecting #60, continue to climb up until reaching the large open room. Walk close to the edge and turn to the left to find a Skulltula on the wall.
#62: In the room just before the second battle with the Flare Dancer, block all the Floor Tiles and defeat the Like Like. The Skulltula is found on the back wall.
Master Quest
The Master Quest version of the Fire Temple is much harder than its regular counterpart, featuring many more puzzles, time challenges, and invisible walls. A wider array of items including the Hookshot and Din's Fire is necessary as well. New enemies include several Stalfos, Lizalfos (found in the boulder room) and even an Iron Knuckle. There are fewer Gorons to rescue in this version.

- Although all the hints within the game suggest going to the Forest Temple before the Fire Temple in Ocarina of Time, nothing prevents Link from going to the Fire Temple first.
- This is the only dungeon in Ocarina of Time where the boss's location was revealed at the start even before the Dungeon Map and Compass was obtained.
