Below is a listing of all 44 Pieces of Heart available in The Minish Cap, as well as a single, special, full Heart Container. These, combined with the three hearts Link starts with and the five full heart containers obtained after each boss, can increase his total health to 20 hearts.

Location: Minish Woods
Conditions: None
Heart Piece #1: Once you save Ezlo from the two Octoroks, head down. Ezlo will teach you how to shrink down in size by the tree stump. Before doing so, head left, up, and left again. The Piece of Heart is sitting there for you just south of Deepwood Shrine.
Location: Minish Village
Conditions: None
Heart Piece #2: Once you enter Minish Village head all the way to the northeast corner of the village, where you'll find a blue-roofed house. Take the wooden path that's on the top-right of this screen and it will lead you to a Piece of Heart.
Location: Deepwood Shrine
Conditions: Acquire the Gust Jar
Heart Piece #3: In the first dungeon, Deepwood Shrine, once you beat the Madderpillar mini-boss, a Treasure Chest will appear, containing the Gust Jar. Use it at the bottom-right doorway to pull off the web and reveal a passage. Head through it and grab the Piece of Heart that's waiting for you.

Conditions: Acquire the Gust Jar
Heart Piece #4: Also within the first dungeon, in the room just north of the large barrel room, you will find piles of dust on the floor. Use your Gust Jar to reveal two switches near the entrance at the south. Stepping on them will create the blue portal. Later in the dungeon, once you get the Big Key and reveal the red portal, go through it and head through the blue portal next to it. You will be taken to the ledge you saw earlier, where the Piece of Heart can be found.

Conditions: Acquire the Kinstone Bag
Heart Piece #5: After completing Deepwood Shrine, head back to Hyrule Town. Once you get to the other side of the bridge, you will meet the Hurdy-Gurdy Man, who gives you a Kinstone Bag and your first Kinstone. Fuse with him to remove thorns in front of a tree in South Hyrule Field. Head to the tree and head inside to grab the Piece of Heart.
Location: Mt. Crenel
Conditions: Acquire Bombs
Heart Piece #6: After you fly over the gap between the two whirlwinds at the west side of Mt. Crenel's Base, head all the way west and then all the way north to reach a dead end. Place a bomb against the wall straight ahead. Head inside and you will find two chests along with a Piece of Heart. Use bombs on the cracked blocks that are in the way and grab your prize.

Heart Piece #7: Once you use the Mt. Crenel Mineral Water to grow the vine that allows you access to the main part of Mt. Crenel, head up the steps to the left. Just east of the Crenel Wall and of the sign, place a Bomb between the rocks to reveal a cave. Head inside the cave and collect some fairies here as well as another Piece of Heart.
Location: Cave of Flames
Conditions: Acquire Bombs
Heart Piece #8: You will pass this Piece of Heart, but you cannot get it since you are Minish Link at the time. Later on in the Cave of Flames you will get to a room where there is an upside down cart. You cannot ride in it yet so walk across the tracks. Use a Bomb on the wall at the south, hidden behind three pots, and you will be in the room with the Piece of Heart.
Location: Veil Falls
Conditions: Acquire the Cane of Pacci
Heart Piece #9: Head to the far northwest of Lon Lon Ranch and use the Cane of Pacci on the hole in the ground. Jump up from the hole and head up to Veil Falls. Head up, then down the steps, and right to get to the Piece of Heart that's waiting for you.
Location: Mt. Crenel
Conditions: Acquire the Grip Ring, White Sword (Two Elements)
Heart Piece #10: Head back to Mt. Crenel and use the Grip Ring to quickly scale the mountain on the east side. Head up the right-hand path four times until you will reach a ledge with a doorway to a cave. Inside, you will see cloning tiles on the ground, so clone yourself and step on the switches to open the door. Grab the Piece of Heart that's waiting for you on the left.
Location: North Hyrule Field
Conditions: Acquire Bombs
Heart Piece #11: Head to the northwest part of North Hyrule Field. Use a bomb on the cracked block that's in the way, head down the ladder there and then down the steps in the cave. Three Keese are guarding your prize. Defeat them and grab the Piece of Heart.
Location: Hyrule Town
Conditions: Acquire the Cane of Pacci
Heart Piece #12: In the southeast part of town, head into the house just right of the shop. There is a dog in here. Use the Cane of Pacci to flip the vase on the right and shrink down, then exit through the bottom left. Make your way upwards and to the northwest of the well there is a small vine. Climb it and make your way around to the back of the Happy Hearth Inn. Head through the opening made by the small flowers. Resize and grab the Piece of Heart.
Location: Minish Woods
Conditions: Acquire the Cane of Pacci
Heart Piece #13: Once you have visited Castor Wilds for the first time, you can get to the Witch's Hut. From the Witch's Hut, head all the way to the southwest of the area. The Piece of Heart is waiting for you there. You can also get to it by swimming up from the southern section of Minish Woods. You will need the Flippers for this method, however.
Location: Mt. Crenel
Conditions: Acquire the Kinstone Bag
Heart Piece #14: Fuse Kinstones with Melari in Melari's Mines. The fusion will create a bean stalk at the very northwest of Mt. Crenel. Head there and climb up the bean stalk for eight red Rupees and a Piece of Heart.
Location: Castor Wilds
Conditions: Acquire the Pegasus Boots
Heart Piece #15: Use your Pegasus Boots to get to the land area at the far west of Castor Wilds. The area is just above the three statues. Push the gravestone there and head inside. This is the final swordsman you train with in the game, so remember this location. The Piece of Heart is at the bottom-left of the room.
Location: Wind Ruins
Conditions: None
Heart Piece #16: Just west of the entrance to Fortress of Winds, there is a tree stump. Shrink down to Minish size and head west. There is a small vine here, climb down it and then climb down another vine on the far left. There are three spots to climb down there, choose the middle one. There is a cave here, so head inside. Follow the winding path, defeating the flying enemies on your way. At the end of the path, there's a Piece of Heart waiting for you.

Heart Piece #17: When you first enter the dungeon, head through the door at the far right. Climb to the top and shrink down to Minish size. Fall down the two holes to get back to the first floor. Head right through the small hole. Resize and grab the Piece of Heart there.
Location: Mt. Crenel
Conditions: Acquire the Mole Mitts
Heart Piece #18: After climbing the Crenel Wall, head west and down the ladder at the top. Dig into the cave on the left. Dig your way along the left side and a Piece of Heart will be waiting for you at the end.
Location: Hyrule Town
Conditions: None
Heart Piece #19: After you complete the Fortress of Winds, head to Hyrule Town. In the center of town, the building with a purple ghost on top is now open. Talk to the man in there and pay 10 Rupees to play the simulation game. He will put you in a dream and you will be forced to defeat a plethora of enemies. After they are all defeated, a chest will appear containing a Piece of Heart.
Location: Hyrule Castle Garden
Conditions: Acquire the Kinstone Bag
Heart Piece #20: Available after making a Kinstone fusion in Hyrule Town. There is no definite Kinstone fusion for this. You'll just have to fuse with everybody in Hyrule Town until the correct fusion is completed. The pond at the northeast part of the Hyrule Castle Garden will drain. Head down the steps and grab the Piece of Heart that's waiting for you just ahead.

Conditions: None
Heart Piece #21: Cut through the bushes at the southeast of Hyrule Castle Garden. There is a hidden ladder here. Climb down it and head up through the doorway. Here lies another Swordsman. Unless you have the Flame Lantern, you cannot train with him yet. However, you can still grab the Piece of Heart that is waiting for you in the southwest of the room.
Location: Eastern Hills
Conditions: Acquire the Kinstone Bag
Heart Piece #22: After completing the Fortress of Winds and obtaining the Ocarina of Wind, head to the far south-west of Eastern Hills. Shrink down as a Minish and go into the house. You will now be able to fuse with the Forest Minish in the house. Do so and it will create a bean stalk just north of your current location. Resize and head to the bean stalk. Climb it for the Piece of Heart, as well as some Mysterious Shells and Rupees.

Conditions: Acquire the Ocarina of Wind, Kinstone Bag
Heart Piece #23: After obtaining the Ocarina of Wind, use it to fly over to the Wind Crest in Lake Hylia. Shrink down to Minish size and enter the house here. Fuse Kinstones with the Forest Minish here and a tree will open up in Western Wood. Head over to the tree in there and look inside to find a Piece of Heart.
Location: Lon Lon Ranch
Conditions: Acquire the Pegasus Boots
Heart Piece #24: At the northwest portion of the farm area in Lon Lon Ranch lies a tree. Use your Pegasus Boots to dash into it, which will remove the leaves of the tree and reveal the stump. Use it to shrink down in size and head straight to the right. Keep heading right until you reach a point where you can head up as Minish Link. In this zoomed in area, head all the way north and grab the Piece of Heart that is waiting for you.

Conditions: Acquire the Flippers
Heart Piece #25: After you get the Flippers, head back to the fountain where you got the Power Bracelet. The fountain is just south of the two cats that are guarding their territory in northwest Hyrule Town. Once you enter the cave along the fountain in Hyrule Town, simply swim across the river and break the pots here to get to the Piece of Heart.

Conditions: Acquire the Flippers, Kinstone Bag
Heart Piece #26: After getting the Flippers and fusing Kinstones with the Minish at the far west house in Minish Village, head to Castor Wilds. Shrink down in size at the northwestern stump. Take the new lilypad that was created with the Kinstone fusion at the bottom-left. Head down and to the right until there is a small passage that only Minish Link can go through. Make your way to the far southeast of Castor Wilds. Get in the water and swim to the far right and you will see a Minish Cave. Head inside and up a room using the passage to the right of the center. Move the blocks and defeat enemies to get to the Piece of Heart that's waiting for you.

Conditions: Acquire the Flippers
Heart Piece #27: Head to the far northeast corner of Castor Wilds, past the Eyegore. From there, swim to the small island at the far corner. Head into the cave and you will see the Piece of Heart. They trick you a bit with the blocks here, as all of them move towards the heart. However, not all of them will move sideways, allowing you to pass to the piece. Push the top-right block in, as well as the third block from the top. Then push the block in between the two up to create an opening. Now, finally, grab the Piece of Heart.

Conditions: Acquire the Flippers, Pegasus Boots
Heart Piece #28: Head to the far southwest corner of South Hyrule Field. Dash into the tree here to reveal its stump. Shrink down to Minish size and jump in the river to the right. Swim up and right, and enter the Minish-sized hole in the corner. Enter the cave and swim up to get the Piece of Heart.

Conditions: Acquire the Flippers
Heart Piece #29: You have to complete the Cucco game for this Heart Piece. Talk to Anju in the southeastern portion of town to play. The final round is the only one that you need the Flippers for. There is a Cucco across the river where the lumberjacks are. You can swim across here and grab it. You can grab the cucco and throw it over the river. Swim back over and then gather this cucco along with the other two to complete the game. Anju will then reward you with a Piece of Heart.

Heart Piece #33: At the north-west part of Lake Hylia, there is a house. Just left of it is a small area of water. Hop in the water and dive in the center of it to get the Piece of Heart.

Conditions: Acquire the White Sword (Three Elements)
Heart Piece #34: In the graveyard area of Royal Valley, the tombstone at the northwest corner can be pushed. Push it up and head into the grave. Split into three using the tiles on the right and push the big block to the left, so you can grab the Piece of Heart.
Location: Veil Falls
Conditions: Acquire the Flippers
Heart Piece #35: Once you enter Veil Falls from North Hyrule Field, simply jump in the water and swim to the right a little bit. The Piece of Heart is waiting for you on the ledge here.
Location: Palace of Winds
Conditions: Acquire Roc's Cape
Heart Piece #36: In the main room of the Palace of Winds, go to the northwest corner of the 4th floor. Push the blocks to the right and they will fall to the floor below. Use Roc's Cape and jump over the gap here. Head up a screen and up the long hallway. Head up once again and you will be back outside and right next to the Piece of Heart.

Heart Piece #37: Use Roc's Cape to jump into the town bell near the center of town. A Piece of Heart will fall out, so grab it.

Heart Piece #38: The Piece of Heart is on a platform in the water northeast of the Temple of Droplets, or east of David Jr. (one of the Tingle Siblings). Jump from island to island and grab the Piece of Heart.

Conditions: Acquire Roc's Cape, Mole Mitts, Kinstone Bag
Heart Piece #39: First you must fuse Kinstones the with Minish in the lone hole at the far east of Lake Hylia. This will cause a bean stalk to grow from the ground in an area you can't get to yet. Jump across the islands in Lake Hylia to get to the northernmost island where there is a cave that can be dug into using the Mole Mitts. Dig into the cave and take the right-hand path. Dig your way to the ladder at the top-right. Once outside, head down the other ladder. Continue your way left to find another ladder. Head up the ladder and up the bean stalk. The Piece of Heart is here, along with two chests containing Rupees and Mysterious Shells.

Conditions: Acquire Roc's Cape, Mole Mitts
Heart Piece #40: Once again, head into the cave at the top of Lake Hylia by jumping from island to island using Roc's Cape. Once you enter, head left. You can go down or left at the next fork, but you need to head left once again. Continue along the path, digging your way through until you can head down again. Go down and exit the cave. You will be back at Lon Lon Ranch. The Piece of Heart is waiting for you just to your left.

Heart Piece #41: Fusing with Gale in the Cloud Tops will create a hole in the waterfall at the top of Veil Falls. Jump into the water and swim into the waterfall. The Piece of Heart is waiting for you just ahead.

Conditions: Acquire Roc's Cape, Flippers, Mole Mitts, Kinstone Bag
Heart Piece #42: Fuse Kinstones with the Minish at the northeast corner of Minish Village. You will have to fuse with him twice to get the correct fusion effect. You have to swim across the water to get to his house. The fusion will open up a platform in Veil Falls, allowing you to dig into a cave. Head there and use your Mole Mitts to dig upwards. The Piece of Heart is directly ahead, so keep digging forwards until you reach it.

Heart Piece #43: At the northeast corner of Hyrule Town, head into the school and shrink down to Minish size. Exit through the hole at the bottom-right. Walk to the area at the top-right corner and it will zoom in to Minish size. Head all the way up, split into four, and push the boulder up. Grab the Piece of Heart here, as well as the four chests containing Kinstone pieces.
