Magic Spell

Magic Spells appear in multiple games of the The Legend of Zelda series.

The Adventure of Link

• 

  Shield Spell
  Shield temporarily halves the damage Link receives. Link learns the spell at the behest of the Wise Man's Daughter in the Town of Rauru.

  Jump Spell
  Jump doubles Link's leaping height. Link is allowed to learn the spell after recovering a stolen Trophy in the Tantari Desert and returning it to Ruto.

• 

  Life Spell
  Life recovers three heart containers. In order to gain access to the spell, Link must find a young woman's mirror in the Water Town of Saria.

  Fairy Spell
  Fairy transforms Link into a diminutive fairy that can fly over obstacles and through locked doors. Link is given the spell after acquiring the Water of Life from the Moruge Swamp to save a sick child in the Harbor Town of Mido

  Fire Spell
  Fire allows Link to shoot fireballs from his Sword. It is the only way to damage Tektites and Basilisks. Link learns the spell in Nabooru after bringing Water to a Thirsty Lady. Link must possess a minimum of five Magic Containers in order to learn the spell.

  Reflect Spell
  Reflect turns Wizards' magic against them. It also allows Link's Shield to block projectiles that it couldn't previously like an Acheman's fireball or a Lizalfos mace. Link is allowed to learn the spell from the Wise Man of the Mountain Town of Darunia after successfully rescuing a Kidnapped Child from Maze Island. Link must possess a minimum of six Magic Containers in order to learn the spell.

  Spell Spell
  Spell turns most enemies into largely harmless Bots. It also uncovers a secret in the Hidden Town of Kasuto. Link is awarded the spell after finding the Wise Man in Hidden Kasuto inside of his fireplace. Link must possess a minimum of seven Magic Containers in order to learn the spell.

  Thunder Spell
  Thunder, the most potent and powerful magic, destroys most enemies instantly. Link must cast Thunder in order to force Thunderbird's weak point appear. Link is taught the final spell by the Wise Man of Kasuto after collecting all eight Magic Containers.

  Din's Fire
  Din's Fire can be acquired from the Great Fairy located in the Great Fairy Fountain on the trail to Hyrule Castle. Link must crawl though a small hole located behind a rock, which must be blown up using a bomb. Din's Fire creates a great orb of fire to surround Link, expanding and spreading, setting fire to any enemies or torches around Link. It consumes a good chunk of Magic Power. It is key in accessing the Shadow Temple.

  Farore's Wind
  Farore's Wind can be obtained in back of Zora's Fountain behind a giant wall. This wall can be destroyed with a bomb. After gaining access, it can be received from the Great Fairy within the Great Fairy Fountain. Farore's Wind can only be used in dungeons, and is used to make warp points in the dungeon. This is useful in getting back to certain areas where there are steep drops, or merely if you save and quit halfway through, and want to restart without having to get back to the desired area. It uses a good chunk of Magic Power.

  Nayru's Love
  Nayru's Love is found in the Desert Colossus, located on the far right (in relation to Link facing the Spirit Temple). It can be accessed through the cracked wall after it is destroyed with a bomb. Inside the wall is a Great Fairy Fountain, and the Great Fairy will give it to Link after he plays Zelda's Lullaby at the foot of the fountain. Nayru's Love allows Link to become invulnerable, but only as long as his Magic Power allows. Link will still get knocked back by enemies, but he will take no damage. This item takes the most Magic Power at once than any other in Link's arsenal.

Zelda can use Din's Fire and Nayru's Love as attack and defence spells, respectively.
