"The Text Fishing Hook.png became a necklace Text Necklace.png! L-l-lucky!"

— In-game description

The Mermaid's Necklace, referred to in-game simply as Necklace, is an item featured in Link's Awakening as part of the fourteen-item Trading Sequence. Link obtains the Necklace by approaching the Fisherman Under the Bridge in Martha's Bay with Fishing Hook in hand. Out of gratitude for finding his hook, the Fisherman promises Link his next catch, which ends up being the necklace.[1][2] Afterwards, Link can deliver the necklace to its rightful owner, the mermaid who had previously lost it.[3] She allows him to take one of her scales in return.[4][5]
