Revali's Flap

Revali's Flap is one of the Recovered Memories found in Breath of the Wild.

Overview

Revali's Flap is one of the memories that Link recalls as part of the Divine Beast Vah Medoh main quest.

Location

As part of the Free the Divine Beasts main quest, Link will travel to Rito Village and speak with the village elder, Kaneli. He then instructs Link to speak with Saki, Teba's wife who lives right next door to him. When speaking with Saki, she encourages Link to take off from Revali's Landing to reach the Flight Range. This will trigger Link to recall the memory.

In-Game Description

"Revali, Champion of the Rito, openly expresses his opposition to supporting Link. He confronts Link in Rito Village, but to what end?"

— In-Game Description

Summary

The memory begins with Divine Beast Vah Medoh soaring across the sky, with Link watching the Divine Beast from a landing in Rito Village. Revali uses his Gale ability updraft to make a grand entrance onto the platform where Link stands and begins listing his many achievements in a smugly condescending tone, saying that with his skills being properly utilized, he sees no reason they shouldn't be able to easily turn back Calamity Ganon.

He then complains that despite his singular mastery of flight and archery, he is "merely" an assistant to Link, all because Link "happens" to have the Sword that Seals the Darkness, the Master Sword. He expresses disdain for Link and this circumstance, and offers Link a chance to prove him wrong: a one on one fight atop Vah Medoh. Revali then "apologizes" for "forgetting" that Link has no way to reach the flying Divine Beast on his own, and flies off, sardonically wishing Link good luck in sealing the Darkness. The memory ends.
