Ra, also known as Dragon Heads, are enemies from The Adventure of Link. Their official English name was never released.

The Adventure of Link

Ras are animated dragon-head statues that can be found in most palaces. Ras fly through the air in a wave-like pattern. Sometimes, they tend to appear continuously in certain passageways in large numbers making jumps over pits especially perilous.

Ras steal experience points from Link if they come in contact with him. Downward Thrusts or Jump Thrusts are the best ways to take care of these flying pests. They also will be defeated after being slashed with the sword enough times. There are two variants of Ra, with the more powerful type found exclusively in the Great Palace.

Blue Ra

Blue Ras are found throughout most palaces of the game except Parapa Palace and Great Palace. These Ra are weaker than the Orange Ras. Link gains 20 experience points for defeating the Blue Ra.

Orange Ra

Orange Ras are found only in the Great Palace. They are quite a bit stronger than the Blue Ras. They also have a faster speed and an unexpected movement pattern. Link also gains 20 experience points for defeating the Orange Ra.
