"Attach something to an equipped weapon or shield to enhance it. You can undo the fusion, but that will destroy whatever has been attached."

— In-game description

With this ability, Link is able to fuse an item or weapon with his sword, shield, or arrow. He can fuse practically any item in the game; up to 829 different items and objects across Hyrule are possible, but he can only do so once. If he tries to undo it, it will destroy the fused item. Alternatively, if he visits the Break-a-Part Shop in Tarrey Town, he can "un-fuse" and get both items back for 20 rupees.

When a weapon or shield is fused with a monster material, the durability increases with the attack power, generally adding 25 of durability, except for certain gears:

  • Royal Guard and Gloom Gear (+10 durability)
  • Rusty Gear, Soup Laddle, Torch, Tree Branch, Wooden Stick Gear, Boat Oar, Farming Hoe, Farmer's Pitchfork, Fishing Harpoon (+10 durability)
  • Gerudo Gear (+5 durability)
  • Bone Gear (+3 durability)
