The King of Red Lions is a talking boat that Link befriends on the Great Sea in The Wind Waker. Link uses The King of Red Lions to travel the sea, and the King gives advice to Link while on their travels. Link receives the Wind Waker from this boat. He is first met after Link attempts to tackle the Forsaken Fortress, and rescues him after he is flung from the tower by the Helmaroc King. After being tossed out to the Great Sea, the King of Red Lions finds him and takes him to shore on Windfall Island. When Link wakes up from his unconsciousness, the King of Red Lions introduces himself to Link. When Link finds himself on Windfall Island, he must find a Sail to travel across the sea with his boat. After Link receives the Grappling Hook, he can attach it on the boat, which is used to find treasures in the depths of the sea. The King of Red Lions also has a bomb cannon, which requires Bombs to shoot with.

The King of Red Lions is actually the King of Hyrule, named Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule.

- The King of Red Lions was originally designed to appear as though he was handcrafted out of wood, but a more Eastern style was ultimately emphasized in his look.[1]
