Treasure Teller

The Treasure Teller is a shop in Phantom Hourglass found on the eastern side of Mercay Island in the southwestern sea. After Link has completed the third visit to the Temple of the Ocean King, the shop will open. Made apparent to Link by a man standing outside.

The Treasure Teller is a service in which the Teller of Treasures, the owner of the shop, appraises and buys treasure and Ship Parts. Regardless of the item Link is offering, he will react in shock of the item.[1]

When an item is appraised by the Teller of Treasures, the amount of Rupees for that item will be fixed for the rest of the game. The amount of Rupees for each item will differ from one game file to another. The amount he will pay for each treasure or ship parts includes 50 Rupees,[2] 150 Rupees,[3] 800 Rupees,[4] and 1500 Rupees.[5] If a customer tries to sell an item that is not "interesting," the Teller of Treasures will claim that it is "barely worth a mention" and will move on.[6]
