Breath of the Wild In-Game Description

The Climbing Gear is a piece of armor found in Breath of the Wild and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Appearances

Breath of the Wild

Climbing Gear can be found in the Chaas Qeta Shrine, on the small Tenoko Island in the Necluda Sea, and can be repurchased from Granté in Tarrey Town for 4000 Rupees if previously sold. It has a base defense of 3, but its main use is to climb walls and cliffs at a faster pace.

Armor Set

The Climbing Set (also including Climber's Bandanna and Climbing Boots) greatly reduces stamina cost of jumping while climbing if all equipped pieces have been enhanced at least twice. However, while it increases the regular climbing speed, it consumes stamina at the same rate as not wearing it.

Enhance Path

Enhancing Armor requires that Link has unlocked as many Great Fairy Fountains as the desired star-level.

Tier Armor Materials
5 3 x Keese Wing
3 x Rushroom
★★ 8 5 x Electric Keese Wing
5 x Hightail Lizard
★★★ 12 5 x Ice Keese Wing
10 x Hot-Footed Frog

Tears of the Kingdom

The Climbing Gear can be found in a treasure chest behind the waterfall within the North Hyrule Plain Cave.
