"The ancient technology used in making this gear and its no-slip gloves will make you a better climber."
The Climbing Gear is a piece of armor found in Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom.
Appearances
Breath of the Wild
Climbing Gear can be found in the Chaas Qeta Shrine, on the small Tenoko Island in the Necluda Sea, and can be repurchased from Granté in Tarrey Town for 4000 Rupees if previously sold. It has a base defense of 3, but its main use is to climb walls and cliffs at a faster pace.
Armor Set
The Climbing Set (also including Climber's Bandanna and Climbing Boots) greatly reduces stamina cost of jumping while climbing if all equipped pieces have been enhanced at least twice. However, while it increases the regular climbing speed, it consumes stamina at the same rate as not wearing it.
Enhance Path
Enhancing Armor requires that Link has unlocked as many Great Fairy Fountains as the desired star-level.
Tier | Armor | Materials |
---|---|---|
★ | 5 | 3 x Keese Wing 3 x Rushroom |

Tears of the Kingdom
"The ancient technology in this gear will make you a better climber. The special no-slip glove helps you use your energy more efficiently to facilitate nimble climbing."
The Climbing Gear can be found in a treasure chest behind a waterfall within the North Hyrule Plain Cave. It still has a base defense of 3, and the main use is to climb walls and cliffs at a faster pace.
