"This shield was forged using ancient Sheikah technology. It boasts extremely high stopping power, but its structural weakness made its low durability impractical for combat."
The Royal Guard's Shield is a shield found in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
Breath of the Wild
The Royal Guard's Shield has a base Shield Guard of 70, and can be found inside Hyrule Castle, sometimes wielded by Moblins or Lizalfos. It has one of the highest base Shield Guards of any shield in the game, however it is slightly discredited due its lackluster durability. It bears close resemblance to the Royal Shield, but with a darker color scheme.
Due to its low durability and high sledding damage rate (3 durability points/sec where the average for shields is 1/4), the Royal Guard's Shield is the absolutely worst shield in the game for shield surfing.
Tears of the Kingdom
The Royal Guard's Shield can be found in Hyrule Castle. It can be obtained from a chest, found lying on the ground, or picked up after defeating Monster Forces.
